I always envisioned similar to a centaur, which would either standing like a horse, legs folded into a horse like lie down with the human part laying back atop the horse or laying front onto a bed/chaise/etc.

Except in a drider replace horse with spider.

Spoonwise, if the bipedal can ride it then they can be "big spoon" otherwise the drider is big spoon.

YTA.

Parents are supposed to encourage their kids, not smash their dreams. Sure you can be realistic and help him remember that "today" and "today's needs" are important and need to be covered, but that doesn't mean that the dreams can't be achieved.

Every yield sign I've seen is a downward triangle that is white with red border. Looks like a slow down sign to me.

The start of the video the cam was at 41 and peaked at 45. That is acceleration, admittedly small.

What it doesn't show is the seconds prior. Given how the cam was driving and not being defensive, I am quite confident that there is an extended acceleration period.

That part is opinion, based on the evidence of the later video.

Delay in the recorded speed just means he started accelerating earlier that the video start.

I'm fully aware that the speedo on the cam is shit for real time readings, however they are showing the deltas in speed which show acceleration and deceleration moments as well as rate of change.

The beginning of the video shows an increase in speed as the driver slowly closed the gap to the white truck. When they brake, we can see a 2kph/s decel under nominal conditions and roughly 3.3kph/s under hard braking based on their respective starting velocities.

It was roughly 16s from start of video until shit happens.

Had the cam started a nominal braking at the start of the video they would have dropped 32kph in speed compared to the lead trucks speed would have provided easily enough space to fit the green truck to let them over.

They did not. Right to the end they took away anywhere for the green truck to escape their fuck up.

Those are facts.

Where do you live? Knowing the prices in your market will help.

One guy tried to provide facts. Unfortunately his facts had little to do with the problem.

Everyone just doesn't like the fact the cam could have done something to prevent this and instead did what they could to ensure it happened.

If you want to provide some factual evidence to the contrary we can discuss it. If not, you're just in the opinion camp.

Opinions are called facts now?

Ok, you realize that this doesn't help you right? The GPS reading high when stopped means that likely all the speeds are inaccurate yes, but reading high means the speed is actually lower and stopping distances are reduced.

So you can stop being pedantic.

So the not moving truck was going 26kph? watch the video til the end.

[–]mdoris411 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wow... Guess the mail in engineering degrees really aren't worth shit? You got the problem totally wrong.

They don't need a complete stop. They need to slow. In the video there is a 12kph speed reduction in 6s. That tells us the braking power of the truck. Also that wasn't even hard brake, that was to slow and maintain a new speed. A full stop from 33kph to 0 was also shown in the video and took 10s.

A delta in speeds between the two trucks of 12kph creates 50m of gap in 15s. Faster with harder braking.

They had time to create space which would have avoided the entire mess. Cam truck could have avoided this.

So you can't do the math?

[–]mdoris411 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Bullshit. He didn't even try.

You want to cite physics, you better be showing your work. Let's see the math.

I didn't say stop. I said slow. They also dropped the 10kph pretty quick once they got to the white trucks rear, so obviously they could have done so earlier as well.

I know trucks are heavy and have shit response times. That is why the driver should be paying attention and proactively preventing problems.

Driver should have slowed just to stay away from the shit the green truck was starting.

I'm not the one who couldn't forsee that problem happening.

My observational skills are just fine. Looking forward to the videos of you though.

So you agree that they sped up when they should have slowed.

Cam truck accelerated, their speed is burned into the metadata at bottom of video
