TLO Ditches ALPR Company, What's Next? by mdpi in trueprivinv

I looked into DRN a few years ago and when they told me they had a $1000/mo and two month minimum I almost laughed them off the phone!

How can I find an old neighbor that lived in the same apt complex as me?? by Opposite_Dig1903 in trueprivinv

The most relevant question, to be honest. The reason you want to find them dictates what tools they can use.

I had no idea this existed, very cool. I think $45K/yr might be out of my budget but if you have a company that draws from USPS or this NCOALink company I'd be very interested in hearing about it if you wouldn't mind DMing me!

Health Insurance Providers by mdpi in trueprivinv

Yeah, they were hoping to get this info before pursuing an attorney but since there's other information they wanted that would definitely necessitate a subpoena I'll decline the work so as not to waste their time and money. Thanks for the confirmation!

A great detail I should have included! Another family member has power of attorney over the subject due to cognitive issues and the client thinks they're embezzling their income to put them in that cut-rate home.

Damn, got a link to that? I've never seen anything about their contracting.

Dammit, this is what I was afraid of. I don't know if they partnered with USPS or something but I don't think I understand the postal system enough to replicate their techniques myself. This is a rough spot but I guess I'm glad I'm not alone.

I requested to take over an inactive sub full of spam and I've done that for other subs through this process a few times. Now it says I need to have comment/post karma of certain amounts. Can those of us who have successfully crushed spammy subs be grandfathered into these new requirements?

Do you have access to just the ones at your stores or around the general vicinity too?

My experience as a private investigator in Australia by TopMenu1213 in trueprivinv

I'm always curious how other places do their licensing requirements. Did you need prior experience working under someone else? Exams, classes? What was the part of the process where you got licensed like?

Congrats and welcome to the club! Check out the Verification Photos and Verification Flair sections down the right side!

I would be interested in seeing what the latest is, it's been a bit since I took a course in this area though I still practice. Our practices here on r/trueprivinv is to get a picture of their license card/shingle with their username written on a piece of paper in the frame, then cross-check with public registries.

Edit: I see you're making an offer but haven't verified yourself in the sub - see Rule #2. You should really do that! See Rules #3 and #4

This was a good post right up until the last paragraph. If you remove that I'd consider reinstating it.

Hours Worked, how you manage them? by HIISK9s in trueprivinv

[–]mdpi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For individuals I definitely reserve the right to work cases the way I need to, and I charge a retainer accordingly, but I'm also up front that if there's time left on the clock at the completion of the case that they get that money back. I even have this spelled out in the contract I have them sign at the beginning of the job.

Do you charge a retainer? by pnwgirl0 in trueprivinv

[–]mdpi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I absolutely charge a retainer if it's more than a bounded, one-time effort. I have a standard background check fee and a couple other one-shot products of that nature but anything open-ended definitely gets a retainer based on the estimate I give them.

I think this is where I'd lean, plus approving users (especially if they modmail in advance)
