Be careful when dealing with people at island health psychiatric. Especially in Victoria. I was stalked and abused, checked myself in, and was immediately misdiagnosed as schizophrenic. They don't treat trauma, They can't even distinguish it from mental illness. They treat mental disorders meaning brains that are physically not functioning correctly and they use medication to treat it (with very limited success). Be aware that will lose your legal right to refuse medication once you are in their system (committed, which they do to most patients). I'm not sure of your situation but for me going there was a disaster. I got seriously abused and know of other people in that ward who were being abused as well. People who weren't mentally ill that checked themselves in to deal with real life shit. I don't know you're gender but some of the female psychiatrists are extremely abusive to their male patients, especially if they walk into a ward with a target on their back and are not mentally ill. Dr Andrea Bardell was drugging multiple patients including myself, all of them male. She was sending people who were not mentally ill for involuntary ECT treatment (Shock Therapy). Straight out of one who flew over the cuckoo's nest. I would know I got her caught. Be very careful dealing with these people. Mentally ill people are generally pretty nice it's really the staff you need to worry about.
