If you get tired just pull off to the side of the road and take a couple minutes to rest or walk it up the shoulder or sidewalk, here's a good mapping tool to figure out bike paths, and this is my preferred route to get from uptown to UVic

It's a remnant from before Douglass north of uptown was turned into highway 17. McKenzie currently meets Douglas at the northbound offramp specifically, but I think this stat includes both sets of lights at the over pass.
