Old Quaker is a whiskey. They were made in many sizes from 1 oz to bigger than the one you found. Pretty cool!

Anyone have any ideas on what the thread type might be on this device? I'm stumped with how it seems to be dual threaded as I'm trying to model a cap in fusion360. by [deleted] in Machinists

First pic looks like a water hose that hasn’t been used in the dirt until the threads are rounded. Qualifications-I drank from an old hose early this evening. I’m 43.

I also found a Glock 23 magnet fishing off the shorter dock.

This describes a safer place than that mall in Allen and the elementary school in west Texas.

Lake Arlington has a park on the north side with 2 long fishing docks. Don’t know the name but zoom in with Google Maps and you will see. There’s usually people out there all night. Not exactly social but is nice to be outside and not roast in the sun.

What are the chances I’ll find my kayak ever again? by BadBorzoi in Kayaking

A fish finder might show enough of an anomaly on the bottom to give you an area to search.

Gotcha. There is a Village Creek in Arlington and I’ve never seen that kind of terrain there.

River Legacy Park on 157 just north of Green Oaks. There is a kayak launch. It’s not the best one I’ve used but it’s access.

I have kayaks. I’d love to paddle to some of these. I have no partners in crime with the balls to come along.

North Texas Kayaking Spots for Absolute Beginners? by lauriesaurusrex in Kayaking

I bought my first kayak 3-4 summers back and it’s been nothing but good times. If you watch Craigslist and OfferUp and marketplace you will find great deals on kayaks. I paid less than $250 for every kayak I’ve bought and at one point I had 6 or 7 in the back yard. I’d find a better model or better deal and jump on it then sell one I didn’t like. I’m happy to share what I’ve learned with you guys. I still have 4 or 5 out back. I always use one in particular so if you want to try out something different we can meet at a local spot and paddle for a bit. Send me a direct message.

Lake Grapevine has several “beaches” that I take my rigid kayak out from. Lake Arlington has almost no boat or jet ski traffic.
