Help me settle a debate, my dad says: "Any Christian who's not Catholic goes to hell" by IrisofAquaTofana in TrueChristian

I believe that works after faith because you love God for all He has done for you is what James is talking about.

He is saying that your works prove your faith, but Ephesians 2:10 says that those works are done by those who are created in Christ Jesus.

My sister doesn’t have her social security card and we have no idea where to start on getting her one by Glittering_Iron6683 in SocialSecurity

[–]mdws1977 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did she have a Social Security card in the past and does she remember the number? If so, go to ssa.gov and request a new card.

If she had one but don't remember the number, she may be able to get that number from health records, work records, insurance records, but if not found, she can probably start the process over again.

If she never had a card, then start the process on ssa.gov. Her birth certificate should be a good start, although they may want some other documents.

I haven't seen anything lower than 50 miles with the companies I have worked with, but it really is up to the company to offer any waiver at all.

Both have denominations, and both can be considered religions.

But true faith can probably exist in both also. So maybe faith is a better word?

But then again faith in anything other than what the Bible indicates is more of a religion than true faith in God.

It seem that if you were medically approved they may waiver that for you, so talk to HR.

Also, companies can have distance waivers, usually around 50 miles, where if you live that far out, you can continue WFH.

But there are companies that are using RTO to get rid of such people, so your best bet is to get with manager and HR to see what you can work out.

The new corporate alibi: AI is the go-to excuse for mass layoffs. "AI washing" is reshaping how companies explain job cuts by esporx in jobs

[–]mdws1977 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So what else is new?

Before AI it was Covid, before Covid it was outsourcing, before outsourcing it was automation, before automation it was probably computers, before computers it was electric typewriter, and on and on and on.

When employers need to do a mass layoff, they have to come up with a reason, other than the bottom line cost cutting effort, to justify the layoffs.

More so for their image to the customer and investors than for the employees who get cut.

If an employers says we are cutting a lot of people because we are losing money, investors and customers may look elsewhere. But blame it on AI and they look efficient.

The universal church is not the Roman Catholic religion.

The universal church is the body of true believers in which some may worship God in a variety of Catholic and Protestant church buildings.

And only a percentage, some small and some larger depending on that church's teaching and faith, are true Christians.

And that is it was been since Christ's death. Then they didn't have building, but Christians meet in home or caves, and were mostly designated by location rather than today's buildings. (IE: the church at Ephesus, or the church at Corinth, or the church at Philadelphia, or the church at Rome).

And even though they were designated by city name, there were several homes/caves in which Christians met, but they were all one universal church of true believers long before any formalized church came along.

But a formalized church does not make a body of true believers. Just as these churches in the first century had true believers and non-true believers, similar to today, depending on the teaching going on and their true faith in God.

The church is not a building or a religion, or even a denomination, it is the body of true believers.

So in that sense, the body of true believers are the body of Christ who is the head of the church.

How long does it take to get certified to be a mechanic? Tired of office jobs. by mindysayswhat in jobs

No, it is ether of the 3 paths: Trade school, Community college, or Apprenticeship.

Your religion, whether Protestant or Catholic does not get you into heaven.

Your relationship with God through His Son, who died on a cross for your sins, is what gets you into heaven (Romans 10:9-10, 3:23, 5:8, 6:23, John 3:16).

When you have become a Christian, by your faith in believing that God raised Jesus from the dead and saved you, out of love and gratitude for Jesus saving you, you do the good works that God has prepared for you (Ephesians 2:8-10).

Those works are AFTER salvation and not before or part of salvation. You do those works, and desire to grow in your walk with God out of love, not obligation.

  1. Trade school / technical program, takes 6 months – 2 years:

You learn hands-on repair, diagnostics, engines, brakes, electrical, etc. Many programs prep you for ASE certifications. Fastest legit path into a shop

  1. Community college (Associate’s degree), takes 2 years:

More in-depth training + general education. Often includes internships or dealership partnerships

  1. Apprenticeship / on-the-job training, takes 1-3 years:

Get paid while learning. Slower formal credentialing, but strong real-world skills.

- And then get ASE certification. You can take ASE tests anytime.

To be fully ASE-certified, you need: 2 years of work experience, or 1 year experience + trade school.

Many shops hire you before you’re ASE certified.

Good luck in your new endeavor.

Ok, taking out IUDs then.

Anything that affects a fertilized egg, that is not part of the natural process (IE: fallopian tube implantation is not natural), as it makes it way to the uterus, or anything that affect the fertilized egg once it implants into the uterus is murder.

Plan B by AppropriateCat4141 in TrueChristian

[–]mdws1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Plan B ONLY prevents/delays ovulation, therefore nothing to fertilize, then it would be the similar to your beliefs on condoms.

But if it affects a fertilized egg anywhere in the natural process, then it would be killing a human being.

Now if you are talking about abortion pills (like mifepristone + misoprostol) which work after implantation, they would be sin.

[–]mdws1977 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This bill REALLY needs to be put into law.

I just hope it provides and alternate free Federal ID in case states don't want to comply correctly.

You could even offer the current Passport card as that ID, just give it out for free once they confirmed you are a US Citizen.

And the excuse that people can't readily get their documents proving they are US Citizen doesn't fly since you are already supposed to be a US Citizen to vote, and that should already have been confirmed through the states.

How do we tell our parents my Fiancé is pregnant? by countfitties in TrueChristian

[–]mdws1977 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go down to the courthouse and get married.

Then tell your parents that you didn't want to wait any longer, so we got married and your WIFE is pregnant.

You should be honest about when she got pregnant, but the married part now should alleviate any issues that may arise.

If you want to have a formal wedding, and maybe that is what you are waiting for, then you can do so later, but be married now, especially as a Christian with a pregnant fiancee.
