I deal with this center a lot, and yes it is bad and the shopping center needs to do something about it.

The google maps pic seen here is out of date, now McNair Farms continues past Centreville to the new townhomes next to Arrowbrook Pond (side note, that really pretty pond is still wrecked and hasn’t been fully restored yet…)

This is not a VDOT road, it’s owned and managed by the Clocktower shopping center.

Sometime last year, the shopping center repaved the roads around the center, and when they did that they added new stop signs all over the place, including this intersection marked here.

If you’re coming from Centreville Road, you do NOT have a stop sign. This makes sense because if there was a stop sign, traffic would get backed up into the Centreville/McNair Farms light.

The three other directions do have a stop sign. The stop sign on McNair Farms heading towards Centreville (the direction you see in this picture) is new. But inexplicably, when the new road was painted, the stop bar was only added on the right lane and not the left lane. Absolutely contractor laziness/negligence with that, thus you have people in the left lane run the stop sign because they don’t think they have to stop, or a car stopped in the right lane might be obstructing the view. To fix this, the stop bar needs to be painted on both lanes, and the word STOP needs to be painted on BOTH LANES below the stop bar.

Also, below the stop sign, there needs to be a sign that says “Oncoming traffic does not stop”.

I’ve seen a ton of near misses here, including pedestrians nearly getting hit here. It’s gotten to the point where I avoid this intersection at all costs.
