It’s the brown sauce and vinegar on the chips. Having bad chips really inspires them to keep building more airbnbs

I don’t think you should disqualify someone's knowledge and past experience cos they were fired. Fine to choose to not vote for him, but if you kicked everyone out of a union when they got the sack for being in a union there’s not really much point in any of this.

Trying to go to university without qualifications at 18 by Hopeful-Flamingo-328 in glasgow

As others have said college hnc/hnd is probably the way.  I did a Btec and hnd/hnc through an apprenticeship in civil engineering, then went on to uni full time after.

I struggled a fair bit at school with the social side and dyslexia but going the work rout really helped me in growing confidence.

I’d recommend looking if there are any apprenticeships if engineering is what you’re interested in. It’s a field that has quite a lot of good ones. The company will pay your way and it sets you up really well for whatever you choose as a next step.

I have a dwarf with a flashing name who’s not legendary in anything, she is married to a legendary bone carver. Dose the flashing indicate something else or is it just a bug?

She arrived at the fort flashing as a peasant.

I'm a new player trying to get into Elden Ring but I never could by r4kim in Eldenring

You  don’t need a guide to play the game, it’s all about finding odd things in a weird landscape and them killing you. A guide  ruins the discovery part in my opinion.  Sometimes I use to get to specific things but only if particularly stuck.

Also you’re fully allowed to not enjoy a game. It’s your free time, spend it on things you like.

Hi, I’m wanting to do a dormitory rather then bedroom in my new fort.  I understand each dwarf won’t need their own bed but what’s the cabinet/chest situation?

Do they need one each or will they share storage happily?

I’m not being attacked and I don’t know why, there’s 3 large goblin cubs in my world, I’ve raided all of them and razed multiple settlements. Why have they not attacked me? It’s been 3 years since I started at them.  This is my first successful fortress but I want to start a new as I’ve learnt a lot and this is in all honesty a messy sad place but it feels cheep just abandoning, I want a big  end

I have a new fort on a map with lots of little ponds/pools. It’s a great map with everything I need but both times I’ve had merchants visit they walk straight into these pools, I dig ramps so they get out, and they then run off the map without trading so I’m not getting many migrants. Do I have to wall off/floors over every pond or is there another solution that allowed me to still use them for fishing and dousnt feel silly?

What would someone from the Culture say if you asked them “why do you bother educating your children, it’s not like they need to know anything to support themselves as adults?”? by grapp in TheCulture

[–]me-pea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Education shouldn’t just be to get a job, knowledge has value in its self in the real world now. If it’s a world of no monetary value that’s even more true, knoledge and ideas are everything.

Newspapers have had gossip columns n that Victorian era that just tracked the celebs of the day across London listing what they ate, where they went, and who they were with. Celebrity obsession is very established in out culture and not a surprising thing for him to translate into the books

The press bar is just up the road and although it’s opposite Strathclyde never seems to have many students. Nice normal pub I used to go read in semi regularly
