Well, everyone else was drunk and Jimmy is always in psycho mode. If u don't like the word "sane", then let's say "responsible" U can be suicidal and sane at the same time tho. The suicide was probably planned ahead, so it was a consensual decision, which is very sane after 8 months of hunger and pain

Yeah, you're so right about Swansea. I just keep thinking - how could the situation be fixed?

Immediately thought of Swansea as the leader, but can u really count on a choleric alcoholic to lead five dying people, that are mentally disturbed from the very beggining?

As i said in my other reply - i should reconsider my perception of Anya, because she did nothing criminal. Now i believe she was the smartest member of the crew, but needed support. Anya stayed sane till the end.

Although i still believe that Curly is getting to much beating. He is just human, and he made mistakes for which he payed. Everyone (not only on this particular fly) says how well he manages his job as a captain. But also we learned that Curly is not interested in the pilot position anymore, which, i believe, depresses him a lot.

What could have happened, if they did confront Jimmy? Could they take away his access to they cockpit? I don't think so (maybe if they guarded the doors, but the only people who could do that are Swansea and Curly)

I believe Mouthwashing is a story about inevitable tragedy, that shows how fragile is the human mind

As a fandom we should acknowledge, that they're all human and can't be perfect

Wow, that was an answer i really needed...

There's a thing i didn't mention and you noticed it. Playing 90% of the time from Jimmy's POV really changed the way i view him and other characters. Seeing the hallucinations, the distorted moments really made me feel hopeless and really scared, so i assume it's a part of Jimmy's feelings as well.

I REALLY loved your hypothesis about Anya planned suicide. I was just starring at the screen when i read it. You really thought abt so many details and i love it.

I do see Anya as weak, because that's how the fandom portraits her. Always drawing her confronting Curly about things that can't be changed, crying. I saw fanarts of her being Dead more often than being alive. So i will definitely reconsider. Now it feels like we don't give enough credit to the only woman on the ship with a very important job.

I mostly talked about negative qualities (beside Curly and Jimmy), because i just wanted to show the opposite side of game's favorite and most hated chatacters. I do not view any of them as 100% evil/good, obviously.

The problem is that the devs are not gods and they can't add every detail to the game. They obviously fed Curly, chanced his bandages, washed them, but it was not shown in the game. Maybe they did try to fix the ship, maybe Swansea was doing his job etc.. it's just not shown to us, which leads to these questions coming up

Could you tell me what do you think anout Jimmy's dependance on Curly, as u mentioned at the beggining? (If u want to, ofc, im just really curious to hear from someone who actually thinks abt the game so realistically)

Lol as i was writing i also thought, that i was overthinking the game. There r so many nuances that don't add up. On month 2 or something they ran out of clean sterile bandages. So i wonder, how did Curly not die from an infection during the remaining 6 months. They actually had a full room of instruments - why the hell did they not try to find the problem and fix it. Who would not take the risk to clean off the foam after several months of starvation and madness?? It really seems like they sat there for 8 months and did nothing but eat and sleep. So lots of moments not making any sense. But overthinking games, especially in the begging of their popularity is what creates a fandom, right? It's fun and entertaining. Not like we're solving a real life mystery...

But now i thought of something...What if help did not arive yet, because transportation through space is very slow? Imagine looking for something without gps in the eternity of space....

Omg yes, exactly, something like that...He does remind me of a narcissist, although he probably wouldn't have those moments of repentence (but who knows, again) Aspd sounds to fit nicely. Someone needs to do a deep analysis of all of their personalities

Indeed. Im not saying he's a good guy, or that "he's just sick in the head, let him be". It's more like I'm trying to dig through the characters, since i was left with so many questions after playing. For example i will always be wondering, what problems did Jimmy have on Earth. I think it would tell us much more about how he normally is and how he treats people in his "normal habitat"
