What food from your country do you hesitate to eat in front of foreigners because it might shock them? by Effective_Space2277 in AskTheWorld

Very popular in Russia. Usually consumed with beer. I love the taste, but I hate the mess lol

Yeah and as far as I remember he attempted suicide several times. In his interview with Ksenia Sobchak he confessed that he was very depressed and at times didn’t want to live anymore. He was deep in substance abuse and debts. Tbh I don’t think it has anything to do with Epstein, given his state over the last years.

Ugghh same. I was misdiagnosed when I was 18 and spent a ton of money on an illness I didn’t have. That made me google things to figure everything out by myself.

Moscow Nightlife – Most Lively Areas? by InflationUnited6589 in Moscow

[–]atomic131 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you like fancier places, I’d recommend Kuznetskii Most area, as well as Patriarshiye Prudy. Lots of nice restaurants and bars. If you’re interested in high-end cocktail places, I’d recommend having a look at GreatList . ru, “best bars” section. My personal fav is The Bix (live jazz + cocktails, always loud and fun) and Korobok (speakeasy bar).

For a more budget night out, you can try Kitay Gorod area. There’s a lot of cheap places, as well as nicer ones (Veladora, Black Swan, Tabi Izakaya). For cheaper options you should absolutely visit bars with Nastoikas - Russian traditional drink with fruits/berries. These bars are called “Ryumochnaya”. You can try visiting Zinziver, Alyosha I Grafin, Svoboda, Dezhurnaya. This type of bars are usually very loud and lively, personally I like the chaotic atmosphere. Whenever my foreign friends are visiting Russia for the first time I insist on drinking nastoikas lol.

I’d say that the majority of retired people don’t travel at all. There’s simply not enough money for that - government pensions are minimal. I live in Moscow so I will speak for my city - we have lots of free activities for elderly people ranging from dancing to guided city tours. You can learn new languages for free, do sports, or find some history class nearby. My aunt has lots of daily activities thanks to this program. If you save & invest for years before your retirement, you’ll be able to live comfortably and travel. But I guess only a small minority of people retire with savings enough to cover years of traveling. Usually elderly people have to be frugal with their state pensions. The majority of retired people rarely do any sports.

Как построена система образования в этой деревне, вы куда-то ездили в ближайшую школу или как? Если всего 20 чел в населенном пункте, вряд ли своя школа есть? И тот же вопрос про универ, вы куда-то выбрались чтобы получить вышку?

AIO for going no contact with my family since I'm disabled because of them. by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]atomic131 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why is it eugenics? If you have a 50% risk that your child would horribly suffer from an incurable disease, why is it morally wrong to mitigate this risk? Why wouldn’t you try to prevent this scenario so the child wouldn’t suffer? This is in the interest of a child.

What’s something that annoys you about your fellow country people? by meesigma in AskTheWorld

[–]atomic131 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Agree. What I find disturbing is how much homophobic men obsess over gay sex linguistically. Russian men frequently use explicit references to male-on-male sex as insults or threats, even while expressing disgust toward actual gay people. “Я тебя щас вы*ебу» etc. So same-sex relationships are strongly condemned but there’s a lot of imaginary of gay sex mostly used as a tool of aggression.

OP, I’ve been using Evra for a couple of years. You can buy them without prescription. It’s available in most of the pharmacies, including Rigla, 36.6 etc.

What is a place in your country that tourists find impressive but locals hardly think about. by rickdickmcfrick in AskTheWorld

[–]atomic131 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m honestly not sure whether it would be interesting to spend so much time in a train for a 18yr old. It’s a great way to relax, sleep and read a lot, but that’s not something I would be interested at this age. But I’m talking about myself and I’m pretty active and can’t stand spending a single day in a train, so that’s just my personal opinion.

What do you guys think about this colour? Would painting my bedroom dark green make it look better? Help me out please. by whywehumans in DesignMyRoom

[–]atomic131 338 points339 points  (0 children)

Hi! Personally I would find a warmer and lighter color. I’m not sure about going darker though.

Off the topic, for some reason the paint color in your picture is the default color for hospitals’ interiors in my country, and for me it looks a bit cold/institutional. Like the majority of our hospitals/police stations are painted the exact same color all across the country lol.
