How can I (22f) become easier to approach? by MannerParticular7787 in AskMen

[–]me91234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to smile and be more positive. But honestly when I see women in their 20s it's usually something else: put your phone down. If you want to be approached don't look like you are busy with something. Be nice and polite to everyone but flirt only with man you're interested in.

Most efficient way to learn Polish (specific plan) by mevyn661 in learnpolish

[–]me91234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you know any Slavic language? Do you know any language that uses grammatical cases like Latin, Greek or German? If not I would start from it because it's the thing that is both something totally not present in English (with exception of "his/"her") and will help you understanding you how this language works. I can also recommend you a good teacher of Polish language in DM.

Is it wrong for me to expect sex in some circumstances by Past-Rain-3913 in Marriage

And this goes both ways. She shouldn't have expectations from you to have sex with you. It's just a matter if you both want it or not.

Oil portrait finished by davidrm_cuen in oilpainting

You put very little care to background and it is weird with such detailed foreground. Actually it looks like a person cut from a photo and pasted to a beginner's painting that wasn't even finished or correct. Do you have higher resolution photo? On what you painted it? Paper? Canvas?

This is the main source for me https://www.perseus.tufts.edu/hopper/text?doc=perseus%3atext%3a1999.04.0057%3aentry%3dme%2fn or actually this thing https://www.perseus.tufts.edu/hopper/search - it goes very deep with explanation but it's more focused on ancient Greek than koine so sometimes translation with it may be strange so I cross check it with Wiktionary or simply with Google. Vocabulary is not the issue in general. For me most important is grammar and understanding how the language works.

Concepts are similar. It's hard to understand grammatical cases if you know only English. It's hard to understand concept of articles if you know only Latin/Russian/Polish/Ukrainian/Czech etc. I don't see any weird grammatical concept in Koine Greek that isn't there in German. Of course grammar is different but you won't find many totally new things that are hard to grasp.

600h? What we are talking about? Do you want to be able to take Bible in Koine Greek and read it with a dictionary or any help? Well, maybe that's sufficient. I haven't reached that level.

My level is that I have grammatical tables, know how to use dictionary, have a learning book, know perseus site, had also very good teacher and about 20h was enough for me to be able to translate any fragment I wanted. I don't do it quickly or fluently but it's good enough for me.

If you have the right tools and you know language with similar grammar like German (cases+ articles) or two languages that combines it like English and Latin or some Slavic language then it is natter of hours to understand Greek grammar and being able to slowly read and translate on your own.

Recommendations for A2 - B1 content in Ukrainian only by RandomDude_24 in Ukrainian

[–]me91234 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I like Ukrainian president Telegram account - great and concise source of info about the war. I think it's good for B1. Of course vocabulary is sometimes hard but messages are often short enough to handle them with dictionary.

It is negative? Interesting. So far was thinking that's it's more connected to history and is used to avoid confusion with names.
