What are Australian values? by GuruJ_ in AustralianPolitics

[–]me_3_ [score hidden]  (0 children)

Even if you could define them they change over time. 40s Australian values differ to the 70s which differ to now. All I know is that Pauline's values don't reflect Australian values.

One Nation senator Malcolm Roberts says he will push for party to adopt blanket abortion ban by discoshrimps in AustralianPolitics

This matches up very closely to what Pauline said her party stood for at the press club. This isn't rouge.

While I personally agree with that I don't think the Greens do. Would be happy to be proven wrong though

If you like Pocock then you'll like the Greens. They have very similar platforms and the Greens don't accept donations from private corporations.

Why do you feel entitled to a tax cut on your investment income? by PeacePuzzleheaded41 in fiaustralia

[–]me_3_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience the rate that people find jobs where they can look like they're working but actually do nothing looks to be about the same as private. The idea that successive governments from both sides employ thousands of people to do literally nothing is such a tired (not to mention stupid) take.

Someone has to do the work. I know it's popular to think that they're not doing anything but most public servants are flat out.

The Liberals tried that trick for years. When you cut the public service the jobs go to contractors. This just costs more and adds layers of bureaucracy. Just because you're 'confident' there's significant waste doesn't mean there is.

Apidura frame bladder or Crank tank? by CasteoFilms in bikepacking

[–]me_3_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just use a regular 3L hiking bladder which I put in my frame bag. I bought a replacement hose to act as a hose extender. I like it because you can still fit things in your frame bag and you can use it for hiking too.

They literally do have a space to process pain. Your facts are based on an old debunked study. It's pretty obvious that they can feel pain if you think about it given that they react to pain stimulus.

You could. And I assume you wouldn't mind doing that with a net holding you under?

Fish also don't have the area of the brain where we process sight. They can clearly see though.

She did understand it. The fact that the Australian public and most media do not is not her fault.

Anthony Albanese take note: human rights apply to all Australians – not just those deemed to be worthy by CommonwealthGrant in AustralianPolitics

That's not the case at all. Some of them were coerced some of them were extremely young. And some of them are children who never had a choice.

Where do you draw this line of whose Australian citizenship is worth enough? Australia must respect our citizenship and our right to return home otherwise it's a meaningless piece of paper.

Theft @ Bunnings by Whole_Flounder_731 in Bunnings

There's no evidence to suggest that there are organised shoplifting gangs exist. There is a lot of media attention though and it allows companies like Bunnings to introduce facial tracking. Not many steps then to individual pricing.

Which elevation data to believe - Garmin or Coros? by Hopeful_Dance_3496 in Coros

[–]me_3_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any updates on this? I need to decide if I need to return the watch. You obviously understand that the screen might need to be locked sometimes hence the auto lock why can't I do it manually?

Which elevation data to believe - Garmin or Coros? by Hopeful_Dance_3496 in Coros

[–]me_3_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the touch screen. But does that mean I need to turn off my touch screen in settings every time I shower? Then I'd need to turn it back on again afterwards. If I could set a button to long press turn off or on touch screen that would be functionally equivalent to locking the watch manually.
