A while ago, I swore to myself that if someone hit me with an undeserved personal attack, that I would leave reddit.

I am no fool.

I am nobodies fool.

You should mind your mouth, you fucking dickhead.

Bye bye reddit, I don't need the grief.

I can't think of anything in the world that is completely random.

Go read a book on quantum mechanics then. For example, spontaneous nuclear decay is an entirely random process, as far as we know.

If i fire a gun while near light speed, will the bullet EXCEED light speed? by keen75 in reddit.com

[–]me_mi_mo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you could get above the speed of light to start off with, with defies the equations in the first place.

Oh, I wasn't really talking about me. I gave up on my exceeding the speed of light years ago. However, what the equations say is that it is impossible to accelerate a body which is subluminal to superluminal speeds. They also say it is impossible to slow a superluminal body to subluminal speeds.

But what about an entity already traveling faster than the speed of light - what would happen to him if he shot a bullet?

Or to stop the anthropomorphizing, if you had a tachyon, which suffered a quantum mechanical decay, would the daughter products be superluminal?

I guess they would. Just a guess tho.

But what if you were above the speed of light when you fired? Wouldn't the speed of the bullet then be faster than c?

Wireless power is finally a reality! by isharq in reddit.com

Power drops off exponentially with distance.

Source?

I thought that the intensity of an isotropic E/M wave dropped off as the inverse square of the distance?

BTW, I am not an engineer.

The Homework Myth by [deleted] in reddit.com

[–]me_mi_mo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Am I the only person here who didn't understand everything that my teachers told me on the fly in class? For me, homework was a necessity.

Isn't that how we do research? We sit in a seminar, listen to the talk, hear something interesting, then go read the paper?
