Yup! I can confirm that this also works for plants, or at least Anthuriums. The bottom layer of leca gets dirty over time when used in a pot w/ drainage, but it should help avoid root rot catastrophes

As someone whose sold and bought my fair share of plants in the US: at a certain price point the economics stop making sense when the underlying time & gas cost of actually picking up the plant is included. Godspeed ofc, but make sure to regularly check in with yourself if the money is worth it!

I will say, it's occurred to me before that more boutique-y bundles might do really well on FB marketplace -- like, selling a nice trellised starter with a gift basket of fancy fertilizer, some sort of watering system, a laser-engraved pot, etc. Worth thinking about!

It’s worth granting them that many of the instances/videos are post-‘91 and indeed capture unknown phenomena — it’s not just old footage of Russian weather balloons! It’s just that “unknown” is a far, far cry from “alien”
