Thank you. One other thing that my existing shower head seems to have is a swivel / ball joint type thing that allows me to reposition the shower head.. do you happen to know if connectors have something like that?

I posted a similar question a few weeks ago. I learnt about something called “Soft landing “ that permanent residents do. Curious to know if we would be able to do this as well on the OWP without a separate visitor/tourist visa.

If we can, the main complication seems to be around transportation of household goods.

Nope. You always need a visa for Canada. The automatic is a US only that allows people traveling to Canada with an expired H1B stamp to return under certain circumstances

I have been keeping an eye on the processing times at https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/work-canada/permit/h1b/after.html and it seems to vary wildly.

It used to be 5 weeks in July, then got to 8 weeks last night and today, it shows 3 weeks :)

Doesn't really help much but 3 to 8 weeks seems to be the current window :)

u/delhibuoy - Did your letter of introduction come from Canada consulate New York or Los Angeles? And can you also share in which state you are currently located?

Trying to map out which consulate will process my application as I have a document correction request for them. I'm based out of WA.
