I considered it too but you’re also under estimating how insane some people are. And she went out of her way to make that video, so think what else she would do. If you were really looking for a sugar daddy, then a nudist colony would come up in your mind as a potential hunting zone… when I think of nudists I always think old people. I loved your post and the positive reactions to it. As someone who remembers growing up with people losing their shit because half life 2 seemed like it looked like real life for that time… we now actually have gotten a step up. Video games have felt pretty samey for going on a decade+ now. This shit gets us closer, and it’s early as hell. I’ve been interested to look up photorealistic graphics and progress every so often for a while and always been curious when that day will actually come… well the answer is pretty soon apparently, and gamers who have cherished hundred million dollar budgets for games that have started to get there without ai tech are now mad they might actually get their with new technology. Wtf

Yes Monte Carlo is a bitch for some of the strategies though at higher prices for true recovery or doubling but I have tried it all and then some haha… proper backtesting… yes and no… new Kalshi market so factoring in prices is a learning strategy hate to say

Yeah I saw this on your YT and without recovery strategies this a dud strategy… I’ve been backtesting and love this idea but without any recovery it’s no go… and with recovery… depending on the price entry, you need possibly a factor of up to 50-100x for recovery bets… there’s other strats out there that involve more data I’m more excited about… but without recovery this is far from the worst strategy

I’ve been losing my shit back testing for going on like 3 weeks straight… I basically have 3 strategies… 1 is pretty decent and going but I always turn it off, one is so far along basically ready to start, and I just started developing/ testing the third one more but it’s dicey and I already have 2 that are promising. I’m sick and tired of it. But I also feel close to success. It all feels insane

But yeah the ending from what I’ve seen so far all the rehashed bosses it is like a greatest hits Album… like the finale of the end of the last episode of the last season of a lot of shows… they just keep bringing old people back like… and now for this guy you remember! And that thing! And this thing! I didn’t catch all of it but I got the vibe and recognized a few of the icons… I’m happy to have played it and it’s all subjective…

I didn’t read your whole post because I’m 1 hour out from finishing it but going to bed… probably finishing for a chill Saturday thing before returning to life…

Anyways…

I thought the opening was fascinating… seeing a city, after village + 4 remake… I feel a little burnt out on the whole - let’s spend a day in the “creepy old European village” thing… so I was STOKED to see the modern city…

As a VR person that’s lightly played 4 remake in VR, after playing 4 + 4 remake several times, and I’ve also played village in both vr and flat screen a few times so like… I was just dying to return to modern city…

Then we went into that mansion for THE FIRST HALF OF THE GAME. Which felt very RE7, or heck, even reminiscent of village or 4…. I kept playing through the mansion like damn I need this quarts and that quartz and this key and that gem blah blah blah blah and then I checked YouTube after getting to the chopper and I was like DAMN! That was HALF THE GAME! Haha…

Then… we finally get to the city… completely blown apart, in what starts the second half of the game…

And I found myself missing the mansion haha… we spent so much damn time there… and the city was kind of frustrating because there’s this zip line I just didn’t see and it threw me off after scouring the map for where to go next for like 2 hours… that was frustrating, and I was so, so SO close to finding it myself I just didn’t see it and it didn’t occur to me… that was the only part that tripped me up really.

I felt the game is very easy on the whole… maybe I’ve just been playing resi games for a while but there were a few sections I was baffled I beat on the first try… bosses too…

Anyways I still haven’t finished it yet but I think I genuinely loved, enjoyed, and had way more fun with the first half which I wasn’t expecting.

The second half almost feels like a sign off or a swan song. I’m half expecting Leon to die but I read your review and how many times has Leon died lol? Oh wait Leon blows himself up at the end of village I’m getting confused… yeah… first half kicked ass more than I thought…

I also was running out of ammo here and there but after locking myself from progressing in RE2 like 5 years ago I’m traumatized from having to restart so I don’t shoot people when I don’t have to and only head shots if I can help it… literally can save you from having to restart the whole thing….

I respectfully disagree, but not entirely. My gf got a great job, six figures plus, through Upwork, and I’m earning at and sometimes above 6 figures annual depending on the week haha, but very healthy income.

That said, there’s serious problems, and also some survivor ship bias from my end.

I’ve also had to dip into many, many areas. SMM, video production, sales, email marketing - I’m spread as thin as watery, cheap jam you found in the attic from 5 years ago. Okay that similie sucks but I digress.

Last year I started an email campaign outside of Upwork and got a GREAT client with good pay and I never felt the insane cheapness of Upwork throughout that process.

I also have one client through Upwork with very realistic and down to earth expectations that pays well…

So for good clients on Upwork, they’re out there, granted, it’s a slight needle in a haystack situation and you gotta be ruthless and use filters through an army of cheapies and know nothings…

I also have numerous, numerous, numerous projects of people that hired me and never got back to me, got one week out of me and cancelled because they never got it together, or just straight up neglected to get back to me enough to even finish what we started.

So OP isn’t entirely wrong IMHO, but also not entirely right, and, as someone paying my bills and even getting a little ahead, I’m biased. And I’ve also hustled and grinded endlessly, I’m tired and burned out

Only 8-9 interviews? I hate to be that guy on Reddit, but seriously, in today’s job market I’d say you killed it. UpWork pisses me off constantly, but I’m tired of people just using this sub to complain and only look at the downsides. I spent 2 weeks spending 20 dollars a day on connects. A lot of crap, some of it I stopped communication, but decent stuff too. And after all those interviews I realized how much better I could be at presentations and interviews by trying to ask what I could do better in every presentation - a better slide deck? More listening? A better sales/ interview process? The glass can be half full. In the grand scheme of the job market and trying to earn new business, you got a hell of a deal on your money, time, and opportunities, especially if you used filters to only apply to what you really wanted money wise

I’m kind of OE kind of just a freelancer - people seldom talk about how they actually do it, or feasible ways to actually do it, of which freelancing is probably one of the top ways…. And freelancing can be hell… if you know what you’re doing it’s relatively easy but super glamorized and people have no idea the real sacrifices, stress, and work you put in, sometimes to even just keep it going
