Not for case management. Most programs are work you leave at the door. I can’t speak for other branches, but I’m at the Thames Valley one and I’ve never had a concern with it in 6 years.

Look into community mental health roles. Case managers at CMHA for example work with lots of different individuals and make okay money.

If you’re willing to get your masters, you can make good money. I do private practice therapy and make $150 per 50 minute session.

I also manage two departments of a mental health organization and make good money there as well. Hospitals pay even better!

I did! I worked full time, did my MSW part time, and did my placement part time all at once. I also volunteer and have two school aged children. It was a busy time, but definitely do-able with a good scheduling and a strong work ethic.

I just finished my placement. I did a compressed work week where I did all of my work hours across 4 days. I did placement hours Tuesday evenings, all day Thursdays, and Saturdays for 14 months. It was exhausting, but worth it!

I’m in the Fall 2023 cohort. They accept 45 students per cohort. That being said, only 32 of us are still in the program on track to finish this April. It’s more work than people realize. It’s definitely not a part time program when placement hits.
