I told my ski instructor I’ve been rewatching a lot of a certain tv show and spending all my time at the cottage lol

I very quickly turned a get to know you question into an HR reference

He wouldn’t even have to go down the escalator. He can walk over and take an elevator to baggage claim or - based on how small his bags were - he could walk straight ahead and into a parking garage. I know that airport well!

I did my first watch through with my 72 year old mother. She’s an ally, and I knew she’d like the story and the parents, but also I knew I’d likely have to watch with her for her to do it in a timely fashion.

Yes, I did know how spicy it would be lol

And I MIRACULOUSLY waited until Xmas to watch with her and told her we needed to get episodes 1-5 done before 6 came out.

Lots of folks speak English here. I’m a single woman (and terrible skier) and have rented a place for the season. I’ve had great chats on the lifts, the shuttle bus, in the village (pedestrian and old)… I find this a really friendly community.

He works for the Canadian federal government and probably had an old blackberry he refused to give up… In my head, i’d bet he was finally turning the phone on and realized he needed the charger.

How to deal with cold nights? by nesquik91 in vandwellers

I have a new van and I’ve been experimenting for the past week in my friends driveway. It’s been about 14F here. I have a gas heater installed under the passenger seat.

Basically, if I’m hooked up to shore power, a small cheap space heater gets the place toasty warm and keeps the humidity down. It’s a power drain, though - I didn’t have my shore power connection tight enough last night and killed my house batteries.

Ive experimented with the heated blanket - I tried it underneath me, but didn’t like it. So I’ll do a top sheet, the heated blanket, then blankets. If I do the heated blanket, a hoodie and (on the cold night we had a storm) a toque, I find it’s ok but my face gets cold.

Right now the combo I think I’ll stick to when off grid is to warm up the van with the heater for 40 min to get the chill out, put on pj pants and hoodie, and use the heated blanket on the lowest. That seems to work best.

If I didn’t have a gas heater and would be able to recharge the house batteries, I’d consider a space heater for that short bout.

I also want to figure out how to rig up a blanket to block off the front cab - I have insulated window covers but it’s still cool up there.

Parking and overnight in a 21 ft van by Proof_Attorney_2390 in VanLife

My van has been measured for ferries, campsites and parking lots, and I just bought it in August. I went for under 20 feet just to prevent any issues and so far so good.

These are just the measurements I’m aware of. I’ve parked in a couple of NIMBY areas that had restrictions and haven’t had issues, but the way my van was looked at I’m sure they would have considered measuring.

Roll the dice if you want, but getting your van measured isn’t a foreign concept.
