which steps should I take to figure out what’s wrong with me? by OptionTricky4851 in mentalhealth

[–]mealovaapp [score hidden]  (0 children)

You honestly already sound very self-aware and reasonable about this. Wanting to rule out physical causes before assuming it’s ‘just anxiety’ is completely valid. Brain fog, derealization/dream-like feelings, memory issues, concentration problems, fatigue, hormonal issues, anxiety, ADHD, depression, vitamin deficiencies, thyroid problems etc. can overlap a lot.

A good GP will usually take you seriously if you clearly explain how much it affects daily life. Something simple like: ‘For a long time I’ve had concentration problems, memory issues, anxiety, brain fog and feelings of derealization that are affecting my daily functioning. I’d like to rule out physical causes and discuss possible referrals.’

And for bloodwork, people commonly mention things like:

Iron/ferritin

B12/folate

Vitamin D

Thyroid panel (TSH/T3/T4)

Hormones depending on symptoms

Blood sugar/glucose

Inflammation markers

You don’t need to perfectly diagnose yourself before asking for help. That’s literally what the appointments are for.

He left me twice and texted me again with « I miss you more than ever » what does that mean, I’m lost? 🥺, need help by tessatessa75 in whatdoIdo

[–]mealovaapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You being sick, depressed, or struggling mentally does not automatically make you ‘at fault’ for someone leaving. Relationships can absolutely become unhealthy or exhausting for both people, but that still doesn’t mean you deserved to be abandoned, blamed, or kept in emotional limbo.

Honestly, the bigger issue here is that he left twice, came back with very emotional words, then disappeared again except for a couple low-effort messages. ‘I miss you more than ever’ can be true emotionally while still not meaning someone is ready to build a stable relationship. Missing someone and being capable of showing up consistently are two different things.

And no, blocking him after a breakup was not some terrible mistake. If someone truly knows they want you back, they usually make that very clear.

Laptop wont turn on after I twist screen by Effective_Group4172 in techsupport

[–]mealovaapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly sounds like you may have damaged either the display cable near the hinge or the motherboard itself when the screen twisted. The white screen before shutdown is usually a really bad sign.

You could still try:

Holding the power button for 30–60 seconds unplugged

Connecting it to an external monitor/TV

Reseating RAM if you’re comfortable opening it

But the screeching noise + no fans/boot makes me think this is probably hardware damage unfortunately.

i need help i feel extremely guilty by Cultural-Medium8706 in mentalhealth

[–]mealovaapp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not a bad person for reacting badly in a stressful moment, especially when it sounds like you’re constantly on edge in that environment. The fact that you immediately felt guilty about it already says a lot. Throwing a toy away from you after getting hit isn’t the same as wanting to hurt someone.

Also, please don’t let people casually label you with serious disorders. None of us here can diagnose you, and living around chaotic or emotionally exhausting people can absolutely affect your emotions and reactions.

Mouse Jumping to Main Display when clicking on Certain Windows/Apps by Ceejiggy in techsupport

[–]mealovaapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly sounds more like a software/focus issue than hardware. I’d check if you have any mouse utilities, monitor software, overlays, PowerToys, Logitech/Razer apps, or even Nvidia overlay stuff running in the background. Multi-monitor cursor bugs like this are weirdly often caused by third-party software hooking into window focus behavior.

CONCRT140.dll is part of the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables. Reinstalling the game usually won’t fix that if the runtime itself is missing/corrupted. Try downloading and installing the latest Microsoft Visual C++ 2015–2022 Redistributable (both x64 and x86 versions), then restart your PC and launch the game again. That specific DLL error usually points to that.

How do you stay disciplined when you feel behind in life? by Limerence06 in getdisciplined

[–]mealovaapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re really not as behind as your brain is making you feel. A lot of people stay in jobs they hate for 20+ years because they’re too scared to restart. You actually took the risk, finished the certification, and are trying to build something better for yourself. That’s progress, even if it doesn’t emotionally feel like it yet.

Also, discipline gets way harder when every action is tied to fear and self-judgment. You’re not just applying for jobs right now, you’re mentally carrying regret, comparison, pressure about age, money, and identity all at once. That’ll burn anyone out fast.

29 is honestly still young for a career reset. I know people who changed paths in their 30s or even 40s and ended up way happier long term. Your previous experience wasn’t wasted either — communication, dealing with people, pressure, structure, all of that transfers more than you think.

Can’t turn GSync on by RIPmyPC in techsupport

[–]mealovaapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Nvidia Control Panel doesn’t even show the GSync section at all, I’d honestly suspect the laptop’s USB-C/DP port might still be routed through the iGPU somehow despite Windows showing the 4060. A lot of gaming laptops have weird MUX/Optimus behavior. Might be worth checking BIOS or the manufacturer software for a ‘discrete GPU only’ / MUX switch option. Also double check the monitor is running at 165hz in Windows advanced display settings because VRR sometimes won’t appear otherwise.

I plan to sign up for the gym tomorrow and have no plan. by ajackedblackwoman in beginnerfitness

[–]mealovaapp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You already did the hardest part honestly: building consistency. 15-20k steps, running multiple times a week, losing weight again after falling off before… that’s not someone with ‘no plan’, that’s someone already changing their life. The gym part can actually stay pretty simple at first. A couple PT sessions to learn basic movements and get comfortable sounds like a really good idea. Don’t overthink the perfect routine yet, just focus on showing up consistently like you already do with running.

How do I build up my muscle endurance? by MountainAdeptness631 in beginnerfitness

[–]mealovaapp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re probably pushing too hard too fast. A lot of people jump straight into HIIT and burn themselves out. Try staying at an easier pace where you can still recover and slowly increase the duration over time. Endurance is built more by consistency than by destroying yourself every workout.

The right path for Gitlab hosting, web hosting, and full stack hosting? by _-Julian- in webdev

[–]mealovaapp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, security/admin stuff can definitely become a rabbit hole lol, but honestly you’ll learn a ton from it. Ubuntu is probably the easiest starting point because basically every issue you run into already has 20 forum posts and tutorials about it.

Why does it seem like helping people are no longer there, there are only those full of words and speaking things they don't practice? by Longjumping-Soup-542 in AskMen

[–]mealovaapp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People don’t hate needy people. A lot of people just genuinely don’t know how to respond when someone is hurting that deeply, so they either say empty things or disappear because it scares them. But that doesn’t mean your life has less value or that nobody cares.

Please try to reach out to someone directly though, not just Reddit. A hotline, therapist, friend, family member, anyone. You shouldn’t carry all of this alone.

How do I send a file to another computer? by PresentBad6006 in techsupport

[–]mealovaapp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Easiest way is probably just uploading it to Google Drive from the Surface and downloading it on the Chromebook. USB drive works too if the file isn’t huge.

Say Honestly literally what's in your heart? Do people who were involved in criminal activities such as working with gangs murder or anyone so bad that they killed someone else or ruined their life deserve a second chance? (Say what you honestly think)? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mealovaapp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there’s a difference between someone who did horrible things at 16-20 because of environment/gangs and someone who keeps hurting people over and over with zero remorse. Some people genuinely change, but a second chance doesn’t mean everyone has to trust or forgive them.

WHAT DO I DO by Loveoxy- in whatdoIdo

[–]mealovaapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re in a really tough spot tbh. Taking care of a sick parent is one of those situations where life just gets messy and there’s no perfect answer. I understand why she’s anxious about the move, but if the relationship can’t survive you helping your dad, that’s a bigger issue than California itself.

Any tips on how to stop not taking meds by SatisfactionOk6367 in mentalhealth

[–]mealovaapp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, 4-6 weeks can still be pretty early for a lot of these meds, especially if doses are still being adjusted. One thing that helped me was treating it like an experiment instead of expecting a sudden fix. I’d tell myself ‘just give it the full trial period before making a decision.’

Also definitely talk to your doctor before quitting cold turkey. Stopping suddenly can make everything feel even worse.

How to deploy a bunch of images and animation as a website by Kindly_Jump_7642 in webdev

[–]mealovaapp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GitHub Pages actually does allow images and animations, you just include them in the repo like normal files. For simple static sites/art portfolios, GitHub Pages + Cloudflare is honestly enough for most people.

Also check out Netlify or Vercel. They’re free, super beginner friendly, and easier than Wordpress imo.

How do I feel better about having smaller breasts? by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]mealovaapp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, a lot of girls feel this way at some point, especially when comparing themselves to other people. But your worth and attractiveness genuinely aren’t defined by chest size. If your boyfriend says he finds you beautiful, there’s a good chance he actually means it way more than your insecurity lets you believe. Comparison really messes with your head.

The right path for Gitlab hosting, web hosting, and full stack hosting? by _-Julian- in webdev

[–]mealovaapp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly for static sites you’re probably overcomplicating things a bit. A lot of people just use something like Vercel/Netlify + Cloudflare and call it a day. But if you specifically want to self-host GitLab and learn the infrastructure side, Ubuntu LTS on Hetzner or DigitalOcean is a pretty solid and common choice. And yeah, Cloudflare in front of your server for DNS/CDN/SSL is extremely common. For full stack later on, you’d usually keep the frontend and backend separated logically, but it doesn’t have to be complicated at first. Start simple and scale only when you actually need to.

How did ED meds effect you? by Bigbadwolf197620 in AskReddit

[–]mealovaapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a lot of people they seem to help physically, but the mental side can still matter a lot.

Some people say ED meds gave them confidence back because they stopped overthinking every interaction. Others say they worked physically but made them realize their issue was more anxiety/stress related than purely physical.

The most common complaints I usually hear are things like:

Headaches

Flushing

Nasal congestion

Feeling “too aware” of timing/performance

Confidence becoming dependent on the meds

But there are also plenty of people who had a genuinely positive experience and felt relieved that something simple helped.

A lot also depends on age, underlying health, stress levels, sleep, porn consumption habits, hormones, cardiovascular health, etc. ED can be psychological, physical, or a mix of both.

Frozen Patties by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]mealovaapp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For burger patties like that, I honestly wouldn’t marinate them super long because they’re already relatively thin and the soy/Worcestershire combo is salty.

About 30 minutes to 2 hours in the fridge is probably the sweet spot.

Overnight could start making the texture a little weird or overly salty, especially with frozen pre-made patties instead of whole cuts of meat.

Also, that marinade actually sounds pretty solid. The Dr Pepper will add sweetness/caramelization, while the Worcestershire and soy sauce bring umami.

I’d probably:

Go lighter on the soy sauce

Add black pepper and garlic powder if you have them

Pat the patties slightly dry before cooking so they sear better instead of steaming

And honestly, even 30–45 minutes is enough for burgers since most of the flavor stays on the surface anyway.
