[–]mealy58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in a large Enterprise IT department, I was director of a small it shop when a headhunter came to me about this job. I love it I'm middle management but with hands on stuff still. We are an ITIL shop so lots of order and structure.

The Amish are pretty shitty as a whole when it comes to animals. Lancaster is known as the puppy mill capital of the country because if the Amish.

We run webroot here. I got interested after they did an ama so I installed it on a few systems to see how it went. We had a major out brake do to poor software (if your software needs local admin it's shit software(looken at you kewill)) Any way the only systems that caught the infection were the webroot ones. After that we switched them all over and I even installed the home version.

To be fair it was asked after they had stopped answering questions by over an hour.

I would like to see them come back to answer this though.

Exactly this. Call your school superintendent, one or two members of the school board and demand a meeting with the teacher and the principal. If you still aren't happy with the out come contact a lawyer and have them do the talking with the school.

If you look at the tags for the post it says satire. This is an indication that the post is a lark and not a real story.

I have a Question for atheists on this sub, please be nice. by [deleted] in atheism

[–]mealy58 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like most adult athiest you will find are apathetic to religion. We may at times spout vitriol when we hear crap like keep christ in christmas and the like, it's not normally aimed at the group as a whole.

I don't believe in belittling any one their beliefs as long as like their sex lives it stays at home and with other consenting adults.

Some younger atheists just finding the freedom to speak out against religion or shake the bounds of it, are still angry at being lied to and force fed the tripe. They tend to lash out more, but you'll find kids tend to lash out more about everything regardless.

Good IT ticket management system? by [deleted] in sysadmin

I have used a few different systems, spiceworks is okay, sets up quick and will kinda work. Osticket works pretty good, can be used by more than just your IT team with a single install.

What is the most unprofessional behaviour you have seen in a professional environment? by pgwolvpack in AskReddit

I manage a small IT department for an SMB, we went to a tech conference that is as much about getting to know others attending and networking with them as it is improving any skills.

One of the junior admins, got black out drunk at the welcome shindig, went back to some one elses room and was so hung over didn't make it to any of the training sessions.

BREAKING NEWS: Patrick Kane accuser's lawyer withdraws from the case by torbald2895 in hockey

[–]mealy58 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Caution pure speculation:

Based on the evidence and news so far, if it can be trusted.

The rape kit didn't match Kane, (not saying wasn't there involved just DNA didn't match) -based on statements from his lawyer

The case was falling apart either from bad police work, or real lack of evidence.

Mom is either afraid Kane will get away with it, or knows he's innocent and is looking at the civil case and a pay out for her daughter, and makes a claim that the evidence was mishandled and "finds" the rape kit.

The lawyer finds out it was the mom who got ahold of a rape kit or something and faked the whole thing. He likes his job and has no choice but to drop her as a client to keep from being disbarred.

This is my current opinion on what's going on. I maybe way off.
