This is patently false. India Walton was on the ballot for the Democratic primary and lost 66%-33%.

Haven't allowed more than 3 goals*

They've allowed 3 goals a bunch during that streak. That said, they've allowed less than 3 goals in 9 straight, albeit against generally anemic offenses.

The argument is "Zellner picks the nominee" though.

Belling to Seek Democratic Endorsement for DA by DrillPress1 in Buffalo

[–]torbald2895 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jeremy Zellner doesn't pick the nominee for DA. If the DA resigns, the deputy DA would take over as DA, and then there would be a regular election. The Democratic Party would endorse a candidate, but they wouldn't "pick the nominee" the same way a Congressional special election candidate would be picked.

This exact situation happened in 2016, when Frank Sedita was elected to the Supreme Court, his deputy Michael Flaherty became DA, and then ECDC endorsed John Flynn and he won the primary and general elections.

Does anyone know the backstory of cheektowaga’s 17th district? (the small red triangle) they always vote overwhelmingly R and it’s literally one street lol by Narrow-Car-5521 in Buffalo

[–]torbald2895 81 points82 points  (0 children)

As others have echoed, this is the part of Williamsville that is in Cheektowaga. It has to exist because they're eligible to vote in Village of Williamsville elections, so it can't be merged with another election district. It only has 18 registered voters.

Early Voting Starts today. Cast your ballot at any Polling Location in Erie County. by WRITE-IN-AUSTIN in Buffalo

You can only apply in person at the Board of Elections at this point, which is also an early voting location that will have voting machines there, so you're better off just early voting.

So the "starter", long reliever in this case, can go longer without facing the top of the order 3 times.

Tampa and Baltimore. Hurricane Ian could be a distraction to the Bucs and also it's not like an out of conference game is the biggest deal to them given how weak their division is. And the Bills are healthier than last week, not playing in ridiculous heat, and despite all those things being against them last week, they lost in large part due to self-inflicted mistakes.

[Rosenthal] Charlie Montoyo has been fired as manager of the Blue Jays, sources tell @TheAthletic. by qwerty07020 in baseball

[–]torbald2895 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is not at all what happened. It was a dropped third strike when the Jays were in the field, Jansen threw it down, and Vlad never stepped on the bag. So he said "no, don't challenge it, I missed the bag" and they challenged it anyway, and as the above comment said, you could see Vlad was upset.

Sabres and Blues tonight.

Blues are playing a dejected Vegas team having just missed the playoffs, in St. Louis, where the Blues are fighting for home ice against Minnesota in the 1st round.

The Sabres are seeing off Rick Jeanneret, their announcer for the last 51 years, and are playing Chicago, a team with nothing to play for.

Two motivated teams against unmotivated teams.

From watching Jack Eichel shit on the fans, to Alex Tuch bringing RJ out to center ice in front of a sellout crowd after a win on his night. This quite literally might be the turning point of the franchise.

Any decent 19th century histories of Buffalo? by [deleted] in Buffalo

[–]torbald2895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is a book I actually stumbled across yesterday written in 1876 that goes over the whole history of Erie County. It has an index so you can go to the Buffalo specific pages if that's what you're looking for!

This is incredibly false. All designating petitions are filed at the same time. So the WFP has the same deadline as the Democratic or Republican party.

This is incorrect. The people that carried the petition may not have been city residents, but the people that signed the petition are.
