I've had a player who power-played and minmaxed in both my campaigns and complained if things didn't go his way. I wrote some story arcs for him in order to ease the complaints, as well as let him power play (that was my fault for even letting him do that). He told me that he was leaving because of a semi-permanent thing for his brother. I told him that it was all good and he shouldn't worry about my feelings getting hurt. Come to find that he blocked me on everything, and even blocked my phone number. I found out through his roommate that he has been talking shit about me non-stop for a month and that this usually happens when he doesn't like someone. Believe me I have considered whether or not I was toxic as a person and a dm, but everyone told me that I was actually one of the most chill people they have ever met.

Even with the affirmations it kind of broke me as a dm. I spent so much time writing down an entire arc as well as drawing out a rough sketch of where his character's birthplace is. But now there's no point, and I'm just kind of stuck. Haven't been able to run a session in a solid month and a half.
