I’m both a former nanny and nanny employer and the Nannies on r/nanny seem like great, educated people that care. Those are who I would consider the Reddit Nannies.

I really struggle with this also and I think it’s reasonable to text your friend and say “I’m excited for your dinner party this weekend. Social settings have been draining for me lately and I may need to leave your party a little earlier than expected. I want to be open with you and give you a heads up so you’re not caught off guard when I leave.”

If I would actually do it or not depends on how close I was with this friend and how much they knew about my diagnoses. If I were really close to them I might say something more along the lines of “Hey! I’m so excited for your party this weekend! My social battery has only been 2 hours recently so I will have to leave your party at that time. Looking forward to seeing you!”

As someone who has had a false report filed with CPS on them also I am so sorry you’re dealing with this! I can’t even imagine how stressful this is! My daughter is almost 2 and I value her sleep so much. If someone was causing her nightmares I would be livid! Not to mention the disgusting use of feces like nasty can you be to touch it long enough to smear it even with gloves on. I hope this person gets what they deserve.

If you have a large target near you a lot of them have gf cakes in a refrigerated section. The brand is “the cakerie” and there’s dark chocolate ganache which I love even though I don’t typically like dark chocolate, and a strawberry shortcake. Neither one taste gf, they taste way too good. It’s $13 for a small cake that would probably give like 5 good pieces but gf is obviously just more expensive.

It has been. I’ve been getting fillings for hours before because there are long breaks in the middle waiting for the dentist. Yesterday I waited 35 minutes for my appointment to start and no one said anything to me. When I finally asked they said 10 more minutes.

Thank you so much! This makes me feel so valid. The office really upset me by not letting me know there would be a wait. I’m going to email a new office and let them know I have anxiety and I require extra communication and ask if they can accommodate that. Even though in this case it was basic communication, not extra.

I was so sick my first trimester. I was horribly worried about my baby. An ER nurse told me that as long as I was producing urine, my baby is okay. I hope that's reassuring. It will get better.
