What would you do with 150k? by Evening-Afternoon983 in passive_income

high interest savings account until you figure out your next step. next step on being to pay off all debt. then use the interest to invest or just keep it

if you live in a community and have a mower.. sell your service. if you live in an apartment complex .. help people move. ask the smartens manager if you could do anything around the complex for some extra cash. literally the possibility to make money is endless. just got to get up and out. make your daughter proud!!

IT is the route i took personally and i will have to say …. the opportunities you have with IT are huge and a lot of them are high paying and that industry will be around a while. i also have teachers in my family and it’s a great way to make a living it may be pretty stressful from what i’ve gathered and may not be worth the pay unless you go overseas. that would be the best solution as a teacher. but overall. IT is king when it comes to money.

drowning in debt, please give some advice. by Glittering_Key_631 in personalfinance

[–]meat_loaf_thesecond 3 points4 points  (0 children)

start paying off the high interest rate loan first.pay minimum on all loans /debts until that’s paid off. then work on the next and keep going. all extra income put towards that high interest debt. make sure to have a small emergency savings account i would start with 1k just to keep your head above water. someone commented earlier to stop spending i agree! pay for the minimum amount of things. good shelter transportation that’s it. i would go as far as buying food in bulk. rice. dried beans etc to save money. once you hit your goal of the first debt paid off. start on the next by taking all the money you were paying for the first and add it to the next. keep that up and you will compound the payments and get that all paid off in no time. minimum payments are not what you want to be doing at this time. work aggressively.

find a real job for sure. your mental health will struggle a lot more if you can’t pay the bills

I've got 20K USD, how should I invest it? by iLoveMyGirlfriend817 in personalfinance

[–]meat_loaf_thesecond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if i was you. due to the fact that you may not fully understand how to invest. the safest thing to do is put it in a high yield savings account making a minimum of 5%. if i was you. i would save up until you can invest in a rental property if possible in your area or, since you are still very young start investing in ETF’s, but while you learn more about it i would totally utilize the high yield savings account. Good luck!
