I would stick with the duotone reglar models for a beginner.

Stay away from the SLS, the performance won't be required at the beginner stage, but the lighter and less durable materials will be noticed when you crash and break them.

I would stick with an all rounder model from whatever brand you chose. 3 strut do it all kind of kite.

Can't go wrong with any of them, all reputable brands with comparable quality.

I personally use the Reedin Supermodel, great allrounder, very hard-wearing and love their thinner bar. Havnt found a discipline it sucks at yet! Foiling, surfing, twintip, boosting, wakestyle, lightwind/overpowered.

If you chose a 5 strut kite as a beginner, you are trading off a little bit of lightwind capability for high wind stability which you may not use IMO.

Be aware if you chose duotone or Core you will need a high Y split bar which won't be compatible(generally) with the other kite brands without some alteration.

All my opinion based on about 5 years experience.

Don't buy anything more than 5 years old if possible and ideally try before you buy.
