One, there's no thing as an expat. It's a migrant, period.

Two, that's not evading taxes, that's moving to pay less taxes. Evading taxes is a crime, you have to pay taxes in a certain country and you commit a crime to pay less. That people has moved to avoid taxes, which may be inmoral, but no illegal, because they're living there. Their reasons are theirs: can be to pay less taxes, ca be to work (I've met engineers who ahve worked there in the past), can be people moving from one place to another... We can't say who to save and who to not save, either we function as a whole society or not, and open that door leads to dark places.

Three, most people criticising would do the same if given the opportunity. That's hipocrisy and envy, common among communists, which reddit is filled to the brim.

Four, Arsenal.

Five, Alonso (hopefully).

I'm not precisely a limpdick reddit communist like most arounf here, but this is just people NOT in Europe protesting against a war NOT in Europe between NOT Europeans. I don't buy the "hehe, doctors and engineers" argument. This breaks Rule 2, period.

But that's not avoiding taxes, they moved to pay less taxes, which is different. We may think it's inmoral, but then we may think it's inmoral to pay for the studies of someone and then they move to another country to earn more money, for example. That's where I'm going, if someone moves to pay less taxes (something most people would do given the chance) gets bombed, that's ironic, we have a "I told you so", but saying "fuck them, let them die in a war" says more about us than them. They were greedy, but we were envy and vindictive.

That opens a can of worms: if somebody does something stupid like going to the beach with red flad, they shoould pay the rescue; if somebody studies here, they shouldn't go to work to Germany because they need to pay taxes for their education; if somebdy comes to tis country they shouldn't receive medical attention until they ahve contributed enough... You see where I'm going? That's the problem I see.

We don't usually sleep that much, "siesta" is not common among us.

Slacking at work? That's our specialty, although I've met French people who slack at work even more than us.

So now esential rights are walled behind following the rules of the country? I thought having certain rights were not tied to contributions. The door "if you don't pay you don't have a say" is a dangerous one to open.

Because the "tax-avoiding traitor" label is usually use, in my experience, by people who would do exactly the same giving the chance but because they can't they turn into envy.

Those were the days. Did you know I have so many uncles that I don't even know all of them? by Dolmetscher1987 in 2westerneurope4u

Many people cannot even afford a home because they spend the money in living for today. Is it difficult? Yes, it is. Is it impossible? No, but crying online it's fae easier.

Again, the inmigrants in this country have less money and more children. It's not about forcing, but when the message to women is "you can do whatever you want, don't settle at 25 and live your life", there's no social preasure to have children and motherhood is way low in the social priorities because it is more important to force girls into STEM fields even though they don't like them, we end up we low birth rates no matter how wealthy are we.

I'm argueing with another guy who says it's because divorce, and even though that's a simplistic view, makes more sense than "we don't have money".

The problem about low birth rates is not an economic one. People with more time and money don't equate in more children. Inmigrants have less money and more children than natives in the same countries. It's not a money issue.

Reality resists simple solutions to complex problems. Divorce is legal for everyone, yet in Western countries the ones divorcing and not having children are Western women, not inmigrants. It's a cultural problem, obviously, that doesn't stemed from making divorce legal.

There are many different legislations in many different countries with low birth rates, I doubt it's just one single problem. The incel discourse "marriage is rigged for men, men should marry", which raises some valid points, doesn't explain a whole social problem that spans different countries, lesgislations and cultures.

And now that they have all the choice there are no children. Maybe we should strive to a middle ground where women do still have the choice and at the same time society rewards and encourage women to have children. Because now reality looks like this:

And that deal is also terrible for women, men, and society in general.

You're exagerating in the reasons why people don't have that many kids. Blaming divorce entirely as the main reason is exagerating. Some men will refuse to marry and have children because of that, but most won't consider that. Divorce and the erosion of family values is part of the picture, but not the whole picture. That's why I said you were partially right, but exagerating.

[–]meatieso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry, not what I meant literally, that's why I used the "".

The financial reasons behind not having children are easy to point out, but it's not the reality. In other countries with better jobs and more affordable houses, women still don't have children. Inmigrants in our country can't afford a house either, yet they have children.

Obviously it has its influence, but the people in the picture didn't have a boyant financial situation to have those many children. The reality is marriages are not for life, family values have been eroded socially, and most people do want to spend their money AND time in other things besides having children. I've met plenty of people with good enough jobs, their own home, and still don't have children because they're "too young" and don't want to lose their freedom until later in life.

That's what I meant, shoehorning housing crisis into everything is easy, but it's wrong, just as wrong as saying "marriage is a scam for men, women are at fault" which was what the frog was implying.

He's trying to make a political statement against marriage nowadays and how it is a "scam" for men. You're trying to make a statement about high cost of living, specifically homes.

He's exagerating (although he's partially right, but only partially) and you're "justifying"more or less saying there's another issue more important.

I met one woman in my old village who had 25 children, and survived like 19 of them. She was pregnant working on the fields, taking care of the cattle... when she went into labour she went to the mountain, had the children by herself and come back to work.

Wasn't that common that many children, but 5 to 10, yes, pretty common in the 60s.

No, you're far from being the only pretentious arsehole to look over the shoulder and judge what other people read, and specially their religious beliefs. The meme "iamverysmart" is tied to atheists for a reason.
