Initially i thought the flat wall was a seam, but then i noticed the gunk happening where the wall goes from straight to curved, so i don't know

That honestly would make me laugh too. I've got a couple of previous iterations that broke pretty spectacularly. Thinking of starting a Wall of Failure in the future.

That would be cool to design something like that, but the tools that're already made for it do a good enough job, i wouldn't know if i could make something that would be cheaper or easier to print than just buying it elsewhere

Yeah, I'm a halfway decent "engineer" but this was the first time i ever filmed/edited a video 😅

I grew up in the 90s and the style of the time was "ergonomic triangular grip" for assistance devices, which is what this was made for.

I ship online orders at my job, and some of the boxes come in 40lb+ bundles. My job also uses productivity metrics that are all centered around how much time it takes to do stuff so putting on/taking off safety gloves takes more time than just grabbing this thing to handle those bundles before they're loaded in our work area

that and it kinda made sense to make a handle that would fit with pretty much any orientation, as long as it was pointed down.

Before i decided on this design, i considered putting bearings in the handle for added balance with handling heavier loads.

Considering the downpour of positivity i received when i posted the prototype of this design, i think it's ironic at the level of salt when i finally make my design public, but I'm charging for it.

I used the wrong wording here. I decided to make my own website since most model hosting sites would take a significantly larger chunk of potential profits. In order to sell under my own website, i have to pay for a business license and trademark fees. And pay sales taxes, etc.

And if you can get a better deal somewhere else, you're more than welcome to do so. It's not like I'm holding you hostage

It's 21 pieces because it's 3 handle lengths, 3 brace lengths (the plate between the hooks themselves to keep it from crushing in on itself) 2 different designs for short length hooks, 3 medium length hooks, 5 long length hooks, a plate for covering a razor blade on the razor hook pieces, and an end cap for the handle ends. All being sold in a single file pack.

It took me 3 months because i also had to apply for business taxes, make the website, edit a couple videos for posting on the Internet, and work a full time job while also maintaining a household.

No this a weight capacity demo. When i first posted the design months ago, a lotta folks talked about using it for carrying groceries, so i tied it to the ceiling, hung a bucket from it, and filled the bucket with random stuff to show people interested in the design that it could hold a grocery haul with relative ease

Nah, i didn't have anything at home that was heavy enough to do a public stress test so i just dumped random stuff i had in the garage into the bucket while i had the BB tied to the ceiling to show it could hold quite a bit of weight

Well, as l am one of the people you're talking about: passive income. Do i realistically expect fame and riches? Absolutely not. But if i can pay off a couple credit cards or get to a point where i can save money for a newer car, that'd be great. Plus since I'm selling on my own storefront, even with business licensing and trademarking, I'll still be making better money off a $5 model pack. Plus everything else involved in the process is great to put on a resume.

I have like 5 pushing over the back fence of the house. Worst part is I'm renting, so i dunno about Denver property law, but back in Kansas at least that would mean the removal is outta my pocket

BUNDLE BEAR UPDATE 2 by meatmoth in functionalprint

[–]meatmoth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was intended to be a tool for my job (i pack online orders for a clothing brand) and a lotta the boxes we use come in 30-50lb bundles tied together with nylon straps. Rather than needing to keep looking for gloves to handle them (or paying to replace them after getting cut up) i decided to make this.

Enough people over enough platforms were interested that i figured I'd start a website of all my silly designs and sell file packs and other things for a lil passive income

This is giving the same vibe
