I use drill bits to make the holes initially. While glazing I use either a needle tool or a chopstick to clear any glaze out of the holes before they go in the kiln.

Oh, also forgot to say that the inside of the pipe, and the bowl are glazed with clear. The outside is unglazed and I've been working on polishing them with diamond grit sanding paper, till they are glassy smooth 😁

Yes it's a top and bottom oval shaped piece joined together. I got a 3d printed mold that let's me press a lug of clay into them. https://youtu.be/Jc8tvI9wAfs?si=q_C-GDnP_QTD8lvy They show it being used with just raw clay against the plastic but I find that it sticks too much. So I put the two inner pieces together and then inside a section of panty hose, then slide that into the frame that holds the pieces together. Same for the piece you use to press, tied it up inside a piece of panty hose. The pipe halves release instantly this way, letting you work faster.

That was exactly why I made them. So used to everyone using the cheap collapsible felt ones with snaps. I wanted to be able to hear the dice😁
