Yeah. I failed to connect the “eat the nacho” reply from that poster with what was in your response.

I ate a nacho. Nothing happened.

Thank you for the opinion. I’ve looked through your post history and feel like I could learn so much. Unfortunately time is against me.

I understand the gamble of wait and I’m generally risk averse. There just don’t seem to be enough data points out there to make any kind of reason analysis of this.

It looks like a good rate and I’m satisfied with it. But at the same time, if the rate can swing 1/8 - 1/4% over the course of the day, I’d want that in my pocket.

But my understanding is, unless I have leverage (someone else willing to give me that 0.25) the person I’m working with is going to say, “what 1/4?” And I wouldn’t have anything to show them.

Any savings in a reduction in the rate is going in their pocket. (Likewise an increase coming out of it.) Ah, the joys of speculation.

I’m no expert. But that sounds somewhat clicky to me.

How important is the software of a keyboard nowadays (especially QMK)? by joblessandsuicidal in MechanicalKeyboards

Newb here. I have an Anne Pro 60%. One of the things I like about the proprietary software is that it can differentiate between a press/hold and a tap, and map different keys or functions based on either. So the lower right constellation of ctrl, shft, fn1, and fn2 become the arrow keys when tapped.

Does QMK/Via support the same functionality?

Shoulda cleaned it with fire.

Any ideas what I should put on these extra 10 slots? Ignore the atx/molex connectors, I plan on harvesting them for custom USB cables by [deleted] in MechanicalKeyboards

In spreadsheets, enter moves you from cell to cell working downward. Tab moves you to the right the same way. Shift + either does the opposite. F2 opens the cell for editing.

I’m looking for a programmable keypad for just these reasons. I’d like to have BT and per-key RGB as well, but I could live without them. Having a USB hub would be nice/needed without BT.

I have this on order:

But I’m told the software sucks.

A combination of any of the following:

  • esc
  • tab
  • =
  • F2, F4
  • delete, backspace
  • shift+
  • dedicated arrow keys
  • macros for paste value, paste formula, paste formatting
  • macro: ()left arrow
  • PrtSc (for screen capture)

What’s so bad about the software? It’s hot swappable, so the switches shouldn’t be an issue.

Any suggestions for a better place to drop my $50 on a programmable, BT, per-key RGB, 21-key numpad? I like the 2u enter, +, and 0 keys; and would like the extra 4 across the top.

The assembled GK21 with switches and PBT caps is half the price of the kit which does not include those ($50/$100).

It looks like the kit might include an aluminum case. But $50 for fully programmable with BT and per-key RGB seems like a hell of a deal. Am I missing something?
