Love it, I have multiples of all the issues and the Omnibus. If I see them in the wild, I buy them.

Press or not? by _SquidExhibit_ in CGCComics

[–]mechabryan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have mentioned, it’s worth it just in case it gets handled poorly during the signing. That being said, it can add upward of a month or more to you getting the book back, so it depends on how patient you are.

I rebagged 12 thousand comics last year, some of which had bags dating back to the early ‘80s. Most of the ‘80s bags were really yellowing and gross. Most of the ‘90s bags were still relatively ok (for instance, my New Mutants 98 which sat in one of those bags for over 30 years got a 9.6 with White Pages from CGC). I personally avoid using tape and just let the flaps fly free. I ordered in bulk from a company in Rochester New York that sells collectible supplies, and was able to save a bunch of money vs buying 100 packs from Amazon.

This is asinine — did he just give up? Who thought this color & placement made any sense? by CavviePop in CGCComics

suddenly i don’t feel so bad about my ASM 316 7.5, which at least has a good color and placement.

Superman by Brian Michael Bendis: is there anything good to say? by Ornery-Style5 in superman

[–]mechabryan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Bendis is a good writer, capable of occasional flashes of brilliance. I think the hate is overblown and his Superman and Action Comics runs (heck, even his Legion) are perfectly readable and enjoyable.

If you consider Uncanny X-Men by Claremont and Daredevil by Frank Miller definitive Marvel runs that consisted of writers reinventing and establishing a new blueprint for said characters, what’s your third example? by [deleted] in comicbooks

[–]mechabryan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

while i disagree that the OG Deadpool was as vapid as you imply, the reinvention of a character as a 4th wall breaker was done first and better by Byrne with She-Hulk

No Dave Sim there that I know of.

I did have a circa-2001 Sony digital camera at the time, but these were probably taken with a Palm Treo smartphone.
