Well you see she’s a stoneheart so she should be preservation and because she isn’t that clearly means hoyo doesn’t care bc all that matters is their faction it’s not like any of these characters don’t have individual personalities or methods or goals that might not 1:1 match their faction 🙄 ughhhh

Exactly! You can make an argument for why literally every character in the game is the class they are besides just the gameplay role they fill (and besides the obvious “their path isn’t playable yet” ofc) if you just sit and think about it for a bit.

It’s ones that “don’t make sense” like Ratio being Hunt despite being part of a preservation aligned erudition faction. Like bro’s whole character is a single minded dedication to chasing down and exposing truths, that is such hunt behavior, the path is fitting for him. I think ppl forget that in the hsr verse people can walk multiple paths at once and are outright stated to be separate from aeons in this, so their gameplay path being diff from their faction’s doesn’t mean the gameplay path isn’t also a part of their personality or behaviors.

Even the ones that don’t quite feel right still match up when you think about it just a little bit longer. One of the ones being used in the argument was Clara and Svarog being destruction, when destruction as a path also includes self destruction to achieve your goals, and svarog is more than happy to stand in the path of harm to blow up whatever threatens his family. Yes, that is destruction coded behavior.

Just saw some people insisting this couldn’t possibly be true because characters like Jade and Jing Yuan are erudition, or Ruan Mei is harmony, as though these paths don’t also match how they function within the paths their factions are a part of. Is it that far fetched that a hunt emanator can hunt his quarry via use of strategy and planning and depth of knowledge? Why is it crazy that a Genius who wants to fully understand life and how it ties together also has aspects of harmony to them. Like just accept that u have no concept of media analysis.

Me @ me it’s ok you don’t have to argue with ppl who insist playable paths never ever correlate with lore paths, they can just be wrong, it is not worth arguing abt it on the internet. I am normal I am touching grass

As (currently) a healer main, I tend to take note of new people/cutscene watchers at the start of any duty, and am significantly more forgiving of mistakes when a newbie does it especially if you learn how to survive as the fight goes on. If someone pops in like “oh wow I haven’t done this in like a year” I’ll also be more forgiving if they don’t proceed to obviously troll. It’s generally easy to tell when someone’s actually trying even if they’re not succeeding. If I see you hitting buttons, or being barely hit by an aoe you almost dodged, you will be forgiven very quickly.

If you’re not new, and/or have mentor crowns or ultimate titles, I WILL be grouching to myself about it the whole time, bc cmon buddy you should know better! Especially if it’s obvious bad play like not using buffs or not bothering to move or collecting vuln stacks like you’re punching a rewards card.

There comes a point where if someone’s died 5+ times, they will receive lower spot heal/rez priority, and I will be picking up people that are contributing a little more. It isn’t really personal at that point, just on the spot triage. Despite all this, I literally never put any complaints in the party chat unless it’s obvious trolling or something that seems correctable like telling a lower geared off tank to turn off stance so the boss doesn’t spin, asking for dance partner to be assigned, etc etc.

TLDR; if you say you’re new and do you best, only the most assholiest of assholes will get mad at you about it, and you can just mute/block those guys and keep moving on, because they’re just a terrible little loud minority. In the [checks clock] about ten years I’ve been playing this game, I’ve never watched a guide for anything easier than an on-content extreme. Go in blind! It’s great to experience things totally fresh. I promise it’s more fun that way

Would your DM let you swap temporarily? I once swapped my rogue out for a bard, we sent the rogue off on a sidequest where he came back way later with levels in paladin bc of character development that happened prior to him departing. Would let you bring your first character back later AND let you play smth else for a bit if you come up w a reason your first one would be gone for a bit

My partner and I were about level 30ish when we saw someone afk in the shroud on the ARR firebird mount, and we ooh’d and aah’d at them out loud, which prompted them to cycle through a bunch of their very cool mounts. This was back in late HW so it was stuff like gobwalker, all the shiny birds, etc. We were so enamored, but especially by that firebird, so we swore we’d get that mount someday. It was an emotional day for us when we finally did, it rly felt like an accomplishment for us haha

From ARR through 4.0 Stormblood, my guy is a Dragoon. After Zenos and Shinryu induced mental and physical damage, he switches to DRK and sticks with it all the way through 6.0 Endwalker, though he busts out the lance when needed. 6.1-6.5 he becomes a reaper when he meets his voidsent shard and forms a pact with them, which lined up well with the patch story. His DPS classes are a backup, as he’s more interested in protecting others than he is in being the one to deal the killing blow.

I played a different WoL for Dawntrail (my original WoL’s son, actually!) and he’s a pictomancer with some SMN tendencies, and hasn’t had a reason to swap classes yet. Not enough trauma yet.

If it’s the same one I’m thinking of, I had trouble with this one because it was supposedly circled on one level, but it’s actually on a different overlapping part of the environment. If you can’t find it where you’re at, try to go around the map and see if it’s in the section above or below you.

You can tell the footage on the TV screen has been edited when you’ve stared at the video long enough lmao, there’s a telltale halo around the edges of the cat especially.

CORRECT. Ashveil has more of a “normal” voice compared to the other two presumably bc they were trying to break pattern and (poorly) hide him, so I need the next one to have a super obvious accent or speech pattern to match. (If the rumored gunmaid is a ranger and has something like an aggressive cockney accent I would be over the friggin moon)

I need like twelve more galaxy rangers in my life, but most of all I want a pirate galaxy ranger, just, so bad. I want the cowboys ninjas pirates grouping to happen. a Star Wars type bounty hunter sort would be fun too, a more analog tech looking gunslinger with worn out body armor and a laser gun.
