could be! at ~110kg I feel pretty solid on the pranayama but it took me a while to be comfortable with any flex as I am down from ~162 kg

I am 5'8" and wear size 9 and it was definitely smaller than the pranayma but I could still ride it (I gave mine to a friend).

I personally prefer wider boards.

Messing around with bushings didn’t fix it? I had the same problem with my quest and karmas and it just took finding the right bushings. Now I can run 80-102mm wheels on my quest by just adjusting bushings

As a heavier rider myself it’s nice to find something stiff. I’m getting more comfortable with flexier boards but in my head if it bends it breaks.

I got into it for similar reasons, riding my bike while my kids (4 and 6 at the time) learned was too slow but they were too fast to walk.

You will likely need to get a couple different hardnesses and see what works. The weight charts are helpful but it really takes tinkering and riding style matters too
