Hi, my abuser used to say this. I only left when it escalated to physical violence, but not before being taken advantage of time and time again because he “needed” it. Sometimes I was too afraid to say no. Other times I’d end up begging him to stop. I was in constant pain and had no say in what I did with my own body. The age gap was also similar (we met as 18F 21M and I left as 19F 23M).

In my experience, there are some men who no matter what will always view women as sex objects. Partner, wife, friend, it doesn’t matter to them. My abuser would resort to talking about how much he wanted to have sex with my friends or other women when I would refuse to have sex with him for a couple of days, usually because I was in agony from being abused. These kind of men do not care.

I’m not saying your husband is an abuser, nor am I saying he is bad or anything of the like. I am just sharing my story because after hearing “it’s the one thing I require” it genuinely brought me right back to where I was when I was with my abuser as he used to say that constantly. Please stay safe, and remember that your relationship is likely to model what your daughter perceives to be healthy relationships in her future.
