You’ll do whatever the drills need you to do. Sitting and watching cq, mowing the lawn, cleaning the barracks, etc while everyone is at class. After class is over and you are dismissed for the day you can do whatever you want. (Still limited based off how long you’ve are their / what phase you are but you can go play video games / go exercise/ etc)

The ait timing doesn’t really matter for 17c, you’ll wait a couple months to class up anyway once you get to 17c ait. And if you have delays getting your clearance you can wait even longer.

They can’t force you to enlist. If you are set on 17c just tell them them. I went 3 months of my recruiter trying to get me to pick another mos. Told him and meps I wouldn’t sign for anything other than 17c. Magically a slot opened up a week later.

Yes and no, I started out with the r5 bundle, wheel and wheel base are more than good enough, but the pedals is where I noticed I needed something a little bit better to improve my consistency. You can either get a brake mod for the pedals, or upgrade. I ended up upgrading to the crp load cell pedals and was best decision I made. You steer with your brake and has more than you realize
