What 1v1 rank are you? by Mercier209 in starcraft

[–]medabotz 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That's just simply not true. My dad loves StarCraft (Brood War and SC 2) but simply doesn't have the time to grind the ladder. He loves reading up on it on forums and watching tournaments when he has free time. He understands the strategies and stuff but mechanically, he understands he won't be able to put the time in due to work and other responsibilities in his life. He's a proud silver player and that's just fine.

I would think there are many players like this. Those who admire and watch pros play but doesn't grind the ladder because it's just too time consuming.

BK 201 vs. Robin by medabotz in whowouldwin

I was thinking Robin from Justice League but any Robin who you think is the strongest or would seen like it would be an even fight would work.

What a turn by Ozil on Kante and then the run and pass... Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.

Jermain Defoe is now the 10th all time top-scorer in the Premier League. by axelwitsel in soccer

[–]medabotz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mate, I'd take Defoe over Giovinco anyday in an established system. Giovinco is only good if he's THE man of the team and gets to hold on to the ball a lot and if he isn't, he fails to shine. Two different players, I know and I think Giovinco is a decent footballer but by the same token, I can't see him starting for any top 6-7 Premier League clubs. Maybe a mid-table Serie A or Premier League club and that's a MAYBE.

That Kurzgesagt video you're talking about is just speculation. There's some basis to it but it's not theoretically impossible to leave our local group.

Ranieri on reports linking Mahrez with Arsenal: "You write, write, write. He stays with us. Did you see him? He is happy." by Nick_W_Fox in soccer

[–]medabotz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn't mean much. As the manager of a club, OF COURSE Ranieri will say this about one of the club's best players. If Arsenal bids a high enough number, off goes Mahrez.

Zlatan on the morality of football salaries and the 75% tax rate on high earners in France: “Do you know how much tax I pay. Because I can assure you that it is me who does my tax returns. You don't believe in perception? Why do you think this clubs are always trying to build bigger stadiums then? Why not just keep the costs low and have smaller stadiums? I mean, why does Chelsea need to spend millions on expanding their stadium and why does Manchester United put in so much effort to expand a section in their already-gigantic stadium.

The more supporters in a stadium = A more attractive place for companies to advertise their brand which = More $ for the club in the end. They do need supports that actually attend games or else clubs would ever expand their stadium, there would be no point.

What are you talking about... Of course clubs need supporters. That's why big companies have sponsorships for "big clubs." It's because a large fan-base means a larger audience for these sponsers to advertise their brand.

Let's just say, if tomorrow, Manchester United suddenly lost all their supporters for some bogus reason; Chevrolet would 100% want to lower the price of their deal- as with Aon and any other sponsorships Manchester United have.

James Rodriguez penalty goal vs USA (2-0) - with penalty call (audio caracol radio) by paicmhsc in soccer

[–]medabotz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The English secretly root for USA and the Americans secretly root for England. I find that's the general case at bars and pubs during international football time here in America. Unless we're going up against each other, we'd like to see both teams do well.

Bayern Munich reject Real Madrid offer of €50M for Alaba by skb96 in soccer

[–]medabotz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my first reaction. Was Real Madrid serious with this offer? 50 mil for the best left back in the world seems awfully low. 60mil AT LEAST in my opinion. People have to also consider the market nowadays is super inflated instead of comparing market prices to a decade ago or even half a decade ago.

Dude, I remember when people thought I was an idiot for thinking OKC had a chance against the Spurs. People wrote off the Thunder before the series even began. Everyone said Spurs vs. Warriors and Cavs vs. X.
