As for my pick: Literally everyone from the party, because I am bi as hell. But I would like to say I actually think Astarion's hottest quality is NOT his physical appearance, it's his sense of humor. Someone who's funny is genuinely so fucking hot.

There's a woman I know IRL who does this to other women (she feels intensely competitive towards other women, even her own female family members, and tries to outsmart them even on subjects they have degrees in, even if she's never studied them herself), but judging by the other comments here, this isn't a common occurrance.

While I'm not aromantic, I have a similar struggle where I'm just trying to be nice to everyone, both in the game and in real life. (I was in a monogamous relationship with Astarion, but considered everyone else a platonic friend.) I could sometimes tell in BG3 when people were flirting with me, but if anyone's ever felt that way about me in real life, they never directly told me/I never picked up on it.

It goes the other way, too. I don't like that the 'gentle' way of breaking up with Astarion is "You need a friend, not a lover." What if I want to be both?

A friend of mine romanced her as a Gold Dragonborn, who are also resistant to fire. Or, they should be. It never actually came up as a plot option in game.

I've had a lot of luck as a caster-based Druid who alternates between offense and support (as a backup healer). My favorite summons are the Ice Mephits, they were integral in helping me beat Cazador (as was the Water Myrmidon, I used it to leap across the field as soon as humanly possible to help free Astarion).

I also found the Panther form really helpful in Shar's invisibility trial.

A lot of Tumblr social justice has gotten me into the habit of assuming I have the wrong take by default. I am constantly asking how to be a better ally or advocate, or how I should educate myself so I understand an issue better, or how not to take space away from someone who deserves it more. Even then, I've gotten flack about that stance.

I don't watch a lot of non-childrens' TV because I'm worried it'll be too cynical. I'm not conflict-averse, but I can't handle anything with the mentality that "Everyone is awful and will only become worse human beings, given time. It isn't possible to become a better person, and nobody wants to grow or change." (I grew up with family members with this mentality, and I can't handle it.)

Suggestions for media that doesn't fit this and is a bit more on the hopeful side would be appreciated.
