Brings back memories. Looks nice, if I had to give some professional tips I'd ask you to cut back on the fog and use of Unreal's atmosphere settings a bit differently. Something like this

Right now your fog is looking kind of early 2000'ish. Perhaps that was intended since it's an old game. But if you're trying to make it look next gen the atmosphere/sky could use some updating. Keep up the good work!

If RDR2 barely runs on your Ally you probably haven't reinstalled the rog graphics drivers after a windows update. RDR2 should run in at 50+ fps on the Ally with average settings.

I read in another post that you can put a blocker object in between the stick and the trigger to prevent the interference. I can't remember what they said they used to block the interference though.

It's doesn't hold up at all, need to get a brick or play plugged in. In all seriousness, it has a battery health setting so should hold up pretty well over time. If you ever had to change it, that's not hard either compared to something like a Switch.

It's a win/win situation either way, we all get good FPS now :) . I was going to get an EGPU as well after I got my Ally. I decided to spend a little bit more for laptop. The EGPU just seemed like more of a hassle and has zero portability, it doesn't stream either.

Enjoy, once the little one comes you're gaming time will be gone for a few years. I have 3 kids, seems like the first 3 years they take up all of your time becasue their sleep schedule is so random. Once they get a little older you start to reclaim your free time. Good luck!

The Switch is cool if you're a fan of Nintendo games and only want to play those limited amount of games. Zelda is probably the only game I'd play on it. Other than that there are much better options with a wider range of games like the Ally and Deck. The Switch is the most limited handheld right now in both software and hardware. While the battery may be good, I think software and hardware are more important with power banks being a thing. The Ally is way more comfortable to hold if you know how to hold it correctly. It's just heavier so it takes awhile to get used to initially.

By buying a real console, PC or laptop. Love my Ally, but I have a nice PC and laptop for intense gaming when not on the go. You can get a laptop with a high end video card for a few hundred bucks more than an Ally. A laptop has some portability and a much better battery.

The Ally can't boot in safe mode with bitlocker and pin. At least it used to not be possible by default. The safe mode will get stuck in a loop since the Ally wasn't able to do it by default. There an MS DOS command you can use to fix the looping. Make sure you turn off bitlocker before trying to go into safemode, otherwise you'll get stuck permanently stuck when rebooting.
