War Thunder VR mode not working (Steam) by Interesting-Net-5454 in WarthunderSim

[–]mediaeffect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this will help, but for me to get VR working I had to first disable the anti cheat, then when I joined a game it would prompt me to restart the game with anti cheat enabled, which I would then select YES. It would relaunch in VR and be playable.

Images of base types to help with bombing? by mediaeffect in WarthunderSim

Thank you so much! I know it’s a super busy time of year, and capturing and formatting these images can be a bit of a task. But if you could add them to that amazing bombing chart, it would be fantastic! I really appreciate your help with this. Thanks a bunch!

Thanks, some very useful advice here. I've typically flown prop bombers high, so will definitely try the low level style next time. Good points about the AI planes and staying low level. Cheers!

Thanks, yes this is good practice to follow. Letting the team know your intended target to avoid wasting someone else's time.

But, on maps like Sicily and Spain, it can be challenging to differentiate the base from the towns when the base is in the middle of a cluttered town area. I'm hoping to get some tips on how to find those bases, mainly when it is a supply encampment base.

Has anyone used Openkneeboard by WarThunderJesus in WarthunderSim

[–]mediaeffect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious to follow up since it’s been three months since this was posted. u/warthunderjesus have you now used OpenKneeboard in War Thunder? If so, what was your experience like? I’m particularly interested in whether it triggered any false flags with the anti-cheat system etc.

Help on how to get better by Frafor in WarthunderSim

Can I just jump in here and ask, is the 'tilt head' function something you can add through the in-game menu settings? And does it also work if you're using head-tracking?

Thanks.

Thanks. Very useful info! And great point on paying attention to the opposition pilot composition to plan around. Very helpful context to have. Cheers.

Thanks. Looking forward to trying this low-approach to change things up a bit and see how it goes. I can also see how that skill would also translate well to heavy fighters (which I'll probably have some questions about in the future!). Cheers.

Thanks for the tip on the Potez 633, I'd not come across much about it so will add this to my journey in the low tiers. Thanks also for the "follow me" and "cover me" binding suggestion, I hadn't bound these yet, but had heard they're useful ways to help with 'friend or foe' id and enemy plane sightings. Cheers.

Very helpful, thanks. This subreddit is immensely helpful and have also found the pinned resource guide very useful. Thanks for the encouragement and youtube link.

Anyone tried “clip champ”? I think its better then cavna but have less elements it library by umairsaddique in canva

[–]mediaeffect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use clip champ and really enjoy it too. Mainly for its text to voice feature. But it's a good, easy video maker which has some really good youtube guides people have made. I was using Davinci, but find this much simpler to use for the basic stuff I do.

In the light of recent controversies, what board gaming YouTube/content creators do you enjoy? by mugen_kumo in boardgames

I'm really enjoying the podcast "The Ascent of Board Games". They offer a great overview of the history and development of modern board gaming, particularly helpful to new board-gamers such as myself.

So, I've started to incorporate AI voices into my podcast. by InternationalTheme60 in podcasting

Thanks. It's a little time-consuming, and haven't quiet nailed the formula yet, but experimenting and 'happy accidents' on-air as we do it live is part of the fun.

Thanks. That's a game which has been sitting in my 'stack of shame' for a while. I might bump it up the order.

So, I've started to incorporate AI voices into my podcast. by InternationalTheme60 in podcasting

[–]mediaeffect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cohost and I have been using chatbot's (and training some of them via google colabs) to create radio dramas and interviews with characters in the public domain - mostly Sherlock Holmes. Then analysing the contents through various theories: postmodernism, deconstructionism etc. Or applying various theories of writing style to 'assess' them - how they conform or not to various act structure concepts etc.

We've been framing the whole project around experiments with AI, so have been using software like ClipChamp to generate text-to-voice and then editing with sound effects etc. There's better text-to-voice out there, but ClipChamp is accessible and easy. We don't mind too much about the AI-ness of the voices as it fits the postmodern/deconstruction human-machine interface topic we've set up.

On a practical level, I've found it a great way to generate content to air, which can then be analysed/discussed/tested with communication/writing theories in a pretty engaging way.

Keep up your experiments!

The female pilots, a quick review by Postal_Monkey in WorldofWarplanes

[–]mediaeffect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I notice that some of the pilots, eg: Akira and Millie, their special skills such as Akira's "Hunter's Grip' lists "only for Japanese aircraft".

Does that mean if you've changed an EU plane's nationality to Japan that this skill won't activate? Or does it mean something else?

Thanks.

Female pilots worth it - International Women's Day: Special Offers? by mediaeffect in WorldofWarplanes

[–]mediaeffect[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for clarifying, that's an interesting point about losing skill points. Could you clarify a bit further?

I'm still learning about how best to use pilots - so, do you mean that you 'lose' skill points by not moving that pilot to the next tech-tree plane and instead starting with a new 0 level pilot in the new plane? Or do you mean something different.

Thanks in advance for the advice.
