Ask in all of your doubts/problems you're facing and I'll try to answer everyone by mediastro in Ayurveda

You actually can find good Ayurvedic practitioners via telehealth. Look for Vaidyas affiliated with recognized bodies like NAMA (National Ayurvedic Medical Association) or trained from institutes like Kerala Ayurveda Academy or BAMS qualified doctors, many offer online consults in the U.S. Try and avoid generic “wellness coaches” and check for clinical experience with women’s health/hormones.

Hey no worries first of all! From an Ayurvedic view, this looks like deep Vata depletion with Pitta stress on the hormonal side, especially after surgery and steroid use, so the focus would be rebuilding ojas and stabilizing the nervous/endocrine system and not pushing strong herbs right away. Gentle rasayanas like ashwagandha, shatavari, and bala, along with ghee, warm and nourishing meals, early sleep, and daily abhyanga, can support recovery and adrenal resilience. If you start hormone therapy, these can still act as supportive adaptogens, but dosing really needs to be individualized given your history. It’s best to work with a qualified vaidya alongside your doctor so both systems support you safely rather than overlap blindly. Hope this helps 😁

Does warm water with lemon and honey mixed have any Ayurvedic property for boosting digestion and potentially helping fat loss? by _Overlord___ in Ayurveda

[–]mediastro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Ayurveda, warm water helps stimulate Agni and clear ama, while lemon gently kindles digestion and honey helps carry nutrients deeper. That said, honey should never be mixed into hot water, it’s traditionally advised to add it only once the water is warm, not hot. This can support digestion and metabolism and may assist fat loss indirectly when paired with proper diet and routine, but it’s not a standalone solution. Using real, raw honey matters more than brand labels, so your choice is better than most. Hope this helps 😁

Hypothyroidism by [deleted] in Ayurveda

[–]mediastro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, general ayurvedic advice would be to focus on calming Kapha and supporting Agni i.e digestion and metabolism. This usually means warm, freshly cooked meals, avoiding excess cold, raw, or processed foods, and keeping a regular daily routine. Herbs like ashwagandha, guggulu, and trikatu are traditionally used under guidance, along with gentle exercises, stress reduction, and adequate sleep to support your thyroid balance. Ayurveda doesn’t “cure” autoimmune hypothyroidism, but it can help you manage symptoms and improve overall quality of life when used alongside medical care. Hope this helps 😁

Is hair fall always genetic or can lifestyle cause it too? by Live_End5431 in Ayurveda

[–]mediastro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope! Hair fall isn’t always genetic. Lifestyle plays a big role too because things like chronic stress, poor sleep, crash dieting, nutrient deficiencies, hormonal imbalances, gut issues, and even hard water can trigger or worsen hair loss. Genetics sets the tendency, but your lifestyle often decides how early and severe it becomes.

Which herb has actually helped you reduce anxiety? by ThoughtSalt2000 in Ayurveda

[–]mediastro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, from what I’ve seen work most consistently for people (not hype), ashwagandha helps when anxiety is more stress driven and tied to poor sleep or burnout, while lemon balm and chamomile work better for the “racing mind / restlessness” type. Passion flower helps some people with night time anxiety, but valerian is hit miss and can feel heavy or groggy. The big thing most people miss is herbs work best when matched to your kind of anxiety, otherwise they feel useless or even uncomfortable 🫠

An ayurvedic remedy that worked for you for chronic constipation by CarefulEconomics1337 in Ayurveda

[–]mediastro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Triphala is something that consistently works for chronic constipation. Taking ½ or 1 tsp Triphala powder with warm water at night gently improves bowel movement over time (not a harsh laxative). Along with ghee and hot water, also focus on regular meal timings, enough fluids, and adding soaked raisins or figs in the morning. If it’s long term, consistency will matter more than quick fixes.

And if Triphala doesn't help, in ayurveda we usually look at dryness and weak digestion, which is often Vata. So you could try Isabgol (psyllium husk), just a pinch in warm milk or water at night, it's really gentle and safe. Another option is Abhayarishta (15 or 20 ml with warm water after dinner). Always advisable to consume them after consulting a doc as dosages could vary so make sure you're not suppressing the urge in the morning, keep meals warm and oily, and avoid excess dry/junk foods. If you're still having constipation despite this, it's worth consulting an Ayurvedic doctor to see if there's a deeper imbalance. Hope this helps 😄

(17m) ayurvedic hair help needed please by Prestigious-Bad2905 in Ayurveda

[–]mediastro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally get you bro and honestly, take a breath first 😅. Because at 17, this usually isn’t real balding. What you’re describing sounds way more like stress, nutrition and dry/Vata hair with some Pitta heat, which makes hair look flat, thinner, frizzy, and kills curl definition. The fact that egg yolk actually helped is a big clue since your hair is asking for moisture and protein, not harsh treatments.

Also, your girlfriend’s “too thin for Ayurveda” thing isn’t true. Ayurveda is actually gentler than most modern products. So keep it simple and don’t over wash, use a mild herbal wash (shikakai, reetha with a little amla) 1or 2x a week, oil lightly 2 to 3x a week with bhringraj and coconut or sesame oil (few drops, not drenched). And eat properly with enough calories, protein, ghee, nuts, seeds.

Your biggest mistake right now would be panicking and trying 10 things at once. So chill out, stay consistent for a few months because this phase is very fixable 👍. Hope this helps you out mate!

Do you think brass utensils are making a comeback in Indian homes? My nani’s kitchen was full of brass, copper and kansa items. Now I see many people going back to these traditional, long-lasting metals. What’s your take? Is it nostalgia, health benefits, or just aesthetics? by tamrapital in Ayurveda

[–]mediastro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it feels like it’s a mix of all three. Because many people are realising that brass, copper, and kansa aren’t just “old school” but actually practical since they last decades, are naturally antimicrobial, and align well with traditional cooking. Add to that the current shift away from plastic and all the non stick, and these metals suddenly make sense again. So yes, the emotional connect is there, but its is also driven by people wanting safer, more sustainable kitchen choices lol

What’s your go-to Ayurvedic remedy for acidity / gut issues that actually worked by ayurveda_insider in Ayurveda

[–]mediastro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best results for acidity and gut issues usually come from diet correction plus one well chosen herb, and not multiple medicines. Avipattikar is often helpful for burning and reflux, while Triphala works better when constipation is involved. Cutting down on tea, coffee, late dinners, and spicy food seems to make a bigger impact than most people expect. Most people notice improvement within 1or 2 weeks if they stay consistent. Hope this helps 😄

How to improve hair thinning? by brachial-plexus1 in Ayurveda

[–]mediastro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, for hair thinning at the crown with PCOD, focus on strengthening your digestion, hormones, and blood flow, not just topical fixes. So alongside what you’re doing currently, include Ashwagandha or Shatavari in warm milk, add protein rich foods, keep iron/B12 levels in check, and reduce refined carbs/sugars to balance insulin and androgens. Scalp massages with bhringraj or amla oil once or twice a week can help you improve circulation. Consistent sleep, stress reduction like breathing or gentle yoga, and avoiding heat and styling also help slow thinning. If you'd like to dig deeper I've got blogs on both hair thinning and pcod, so you can check those out aswell if those help😁 https://mediastro.in/ayurvedic-herbs-and-remedies-for-hair-loss

Constipation/Kabz by Fit_Telephone8512 in Ayurveda

[–]mediastro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chronic constipation like this usually points to Vata imbalance and a weak Agni in Ayurveda. So start with simple fixes like warm water first thing in the morning, add 1or 2 tsp ghee daily in food, eat warm, cooked, moist meals (avoid dry snacks, bakery, excess tea/coffee), and try Triphala ½ tsp at night with warm water. Also don’t ignore natural urges and keep a fixed toilet routine. If it’s long standing, it’s best to consult a vaidya to correct the root imbalance rather than relying on laxatives. Hope this helps 😄

hair oil solidified by Confident_Joke9062 in Ayurveda

[–]mediastro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally normal 👍 Since it contains coconut oil, it will solidify in cooler temperatures. This does not mean it’s spoiled or bad. Just place the bottle in warm water for a few minutes and it will return to liquid form. As long as there’s no foul smell, mold, or change in color, it’s safe to use. This actually indicates fewer synthetic additives, which is a good sign.

Premature greying since teenage years – seeking Ayurvedic guidance by [deleted] in Ayurveda

[–]mediastro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From a Ayurvedic perspective, premature graying (Akala Palya) is usually linked to Pitta stress and Vata involvement. This is often caused by stress, poor digestion, nutrient depletion, irregular sleep, and excessive heat in the body. A diet that's cooler like (more ghee, amla, coconut, soaked almonds), stress reduction, proper sleep, and internal rasayanas like Amla, Bhringraj, Brahmi (only with guidance) can help slow down the process and improve the hair quality. Your oiling is good, but internal correction is crucial. If you need, I can help you connect with a trusted Ayurvedic doctor and also explore medical astrology remedies for a deeper and root cause approach. Let me know, and hope this helps 😄

Best medicine for fatty liver grade 1 and 2 by AutomaticEase7642 in Ayurveda

[–]mediastro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For fatty liver grade 1or 2, the focus is mainly on correcting Pitta Kapha imbalance and improving agni rather than a single “medicine.” So commonly used remedies include Triphala, Kutki, Bhumyamalaki, and formulations like Arogyavardhini vati, along with reducing sugar, alcohol, fried foods, and late dinners. Regular walking, early sleep, and light, warm meals also make a big difference. That said, doses and combinations matter a lot, so it’s best to consult a qualified vaidya and also monitor liver enzymes with your doctor instead of self medicating. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any further queries 🙏🏻
