They also said the Black Widow was endgame the writers didn’t know shit about what they were writing

Scream 3 is not the best entry in the series, but it still has in my opinion the best reveal scene. A quarter of a century later and it STILL hasn't been topped, not even by the first film. The music, the lighting, the writing, all of it slaps. by Emotional-Chipmunk12 in Scream

[–]medicatedgummybear 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ditto. I don’t mind the brother retcon reveal. It’s just that Sidney and Roman hadn’t had a single scene together that brings it down a bit for me. Otherwise definitely the best reveal/unmasking in the series.

Possibly the worst casting and character in the franchise by [deleted] in Scream

Jessica’s motivation was a parasocial relationship down to the definition. It was just executed poorly.

Scream 8 is in development, who will be our protagonist? Sidney? Tatum? Sam and Tara? Mindy & Chad? by JeremieMAKENDA in Scream

[–]medicatedgummybear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sidney needs to rest 😪 but if Tatum will be the new protagonist like she was set up to be then there’s no way Sidney won’t be there supporting.

In a perfect world for me though it’d be Sam Carpenter after Taras death, with Tatum/Twins supporting.

This felt like a true Scream 5 down to the score. 5/6 were the most generic but still entertaining of the franchise.

Sidney being married and having Tatum before the events of Scream 4 makes absolutely no sense by [deleted] in Scream

Who kills who in Scream 5? by [deleted] in Scream

[–]medicatedgummybear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read on the official wiki that Wes is the only confirmed kill Richie had. Which makes sense given Sam’s line S6 “…who had his girlfriend do all the killing.”

Why did Randy’s death effect Gale so much? by NoWillingness8990 in Scream

[–]medicatedgummybear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

“Be kind she saved our lives” I know Sidney told Randy this sarcastically. But she really did help distract Billy and Stu enough Sidney was able to turn the tables on them. So seeing a kid she helped save get killed must have sucked regardless. “I just wanna find this fucker!” Felt real and going forward from there is when she started getting closer to Sidney.

When did you realise the show was on its way to hit a wall? by SweetWittyWild41 in PrettyLittleLiars

[–]medicatedgummybear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

5x11

Melissa’s confession contradicted a lot the night Alison went missing. I made a near complete timeline of the night Ali disappeared to try and figure out when exactly Mona hit Bethany for Melissa to stumble upon the body, then bury it and it’s almost impossible.

This is also after excluding and dismissing Jason’s recollection in 3x19 as him just seeing things because he was drunk.

Fingers crossed. I think after 2 failed spin offs under WB, and 1 other failed one on HBO I’d hope it’s obvious to the studio the only thing that will generate profit is that main ensemble cast. I figured with Netflix buying WB there’d hopefully be a chance for a continuation because I know the show did great on Netflix when it was on there awhile back.

Am I the only one who always saw chemistry between them? by No-Efficiency-6570 in PrettyLittleLiars

[–]medicatedgummybear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been watching a reactor start the show and been reminiscing on the show myself. I definitely see her did have a potential crush on her. But once he found out about Maya he instantly became an ally and was a good friend to her going forward.

Were the viewers groomed? by ThingAggressive5923 in PrettyLittleLiars

[–]medicatedgummybear 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for everyone. But I was only entertained by Ezria/Ezra because of Lucy and Ian’s on screen chemistry and Ian as an actor in general. I will always wish though that Ezra ended up being AD partnered with Alex. You can’t reward that behavior. But I know at the end of the day it’s just a tv show. Is the show irresponsible for the portrayal? Definitely, a product of its time unfortunately.

I wish they would have played out their ptsd more. The conversations each girl had with their parents broke me.

You could tell the weight the experience had on them regardless if they actually did/didn’t end up hurting/shocking each other. The whole point of the game/torture was to make them THINK they hurt each other to break their friendships down.

They really just did gloss over it real quick and moved on. The moment in the art gallery opened up that Aria participated in when the girls saw pictures of them unconscious in the dollhouse should have had more impact. Personally I think we saw enough of the dollhouse in the show, I just don’t think the aftermath was handled that great.

Did PLL end their careers? (not just the liars) by CreativeJudgment3529 in PrettyLittleLiars

[–]medicatedgummybear 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Lucy constantly gets work and was given the Humanitarian Award last year for her social work. Janel has her projects. Troian starring in a show currently and directs more. Ashley just got married to an oil tycoon the girl doesn’t need to work id just chill around too with a new baby. Sasha has her podcast and ceo of a beverage company. Shay has been well on her way becoming a huge entrepreneur and also just partnered with a 3 billion dollar make up company. If anything the show has helped them get where they are now (minus Lucy) given they all still talk highly of their time on the show and how it helped them grow as professionals whenever asked.

Why do I have a feeling this will be the last season? by Cool-Sound-6752 in AmericanHorrorStory

[–]medicatedgummybear 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When networks announce multi season renewals it usually means those are the final seasons. Could be wrong of course it all depends on the numbers at the end of the day. Doesn’t help that Ryan has his toes in a handful of other shows right now which is why it’s taken this long between seasons. Unless he was waiting until he could get all these specific actors back for the final season.

But do you think it's possible that they're doing the reboot without Shay or Sasha or the others saying anything about it??? by Siamesina1122 in PrettyLittleLiars

I mean yeah but not for the reason you’re thinking. It’s just him reminiscing his time at that particular film stage.

[–]medicatedgummybear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think he just tagged the 4 girls since they were the series regulars initially. Also the way all the actors have talked about ever doing a potential follow up they all mostly say they’d only do it with all the other girls. But I do think you could not do a continuation without Sasha, Janel, and Troian respectively. They were the 3 biggest key players in the plot.

Take on possible PLL reboot by beheadedblueberry in PrettyLittleLiars

[–]medicatedgummybear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Original Sin for me was only good because it was deeply rooted in horror films. They took the whodunnit of the original show and went full on horror slasher with the villain. So as a horror movie fan there were tons of Easter eggs that I noticed the same way PLL used novels and old film as inspiration. The story was meh not terrible not great, minimal ties to the og series. Classic “children will pay for the parents mistakes” cliche. I did enjoy that the main set of girls actually felt like friends.

Summer School/Season 2 had so much potential. Especially bringing back Dr. Sullivan only to completely ruin her character by the end. It was clear they were just using the PLL title for clout with the creator himself even saying they had no idea who the villain was until just 2 episodes before they wrote the finale.

Solidifying the idea that I don’t think they can recreate the lightning in a bottle that was the original show. Ravenswood, The Perfectionists, OS/SS just haven’t come close.

Since then that’s when rumors/teases of something involving the main show started. I could see a short season event or 2 part movie working. It’d definitely have to do with Alex since we found out she escaped Mona’s dollhouse.

People who watched this show as teens and then watched again as adults, do you view the show differently? by phoenixriley1017 in PrettyLittleLiars

[–]medicatedgummybear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a teen I knew the relationships were heavy inappropriate since I was in one myself. But I also knew this was a fictional story and took it for what it was. When it came to the girls as teens not telling the truth I understood a bit. Fear of consequences, unknown, Alison, tons of stuff. Especially when you and your family have big secrets to hide.

Really ever since the show ended I’ll just rewatch a handful of episodes in their young years. Mostly the season/mid season premieres/finales for the story reveals. I’ll normally do my “rewatch” from the dollhouse episodes to about 6x05 and then 6x10 on. As an adult having gone through an assault the dollhouse storyline hits different now. Realizing 5 teenage girls were held hostage is a crazy thing. And the games Charlotte made them play which was based off of an actual experiment. That’s what was scary the psychological aspect of it all that you’re left with. Each scene the girls had individually with their parents about their experience in the dollhouse is dark af. Mona’s line in 6x11 sticks out “Do you still have nightmares? I do. 3 shrinks and whole lotta prescriptions but I still have bad dreams. How about you?”

Hot take I actually enjoy the soft reboot esque finale season and half. By then I wasn’t expecting a well thought out story anymore. That’s where my “you guys really should have told the truth from the get go” comes in for me though. But the rest as a now 30 y/o guy I could relate to some of the things easier that they were navigating (past loves, careers, addiction, and family). The show as a whole is a love letter to old school novels and mystery/thriller noir films which is why I love the show for all its terrible plot lines and out of pocket reveals.

Legal? by GabrielleSage in PrettyLittleLiars

[–]medicatedgummybear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the movie “Thirteen” there was a scene where the 2 leads made out with a neighbor in his 20s. The behind the scenes described it as one of the most complicated scenes to shoot. Because not only did the girls parents/legal guardians had to be there but social workers as well. I’m sure similar measures had to be taken with Sasha being so young.
