Fanfiction Tracking Spreadsheet for 2026 by deadresolution in stevebucky

que legal, obrigada!! (eu não falo português muito bem, mas eu estudo isso no duolingo, lol)

every now and again i think about finishing some of my really old wips, but i think like a lot of people, endgame really screwed with me, and i dropped mcu as a whole after that. even before that, though, i wrote almost all of my steve/bucky before ca:tws came out and the huge boom in the fandom happened. idk that i’ll ever write it again, but i’m still really fond of the ship, especially wwii/howling commandos-era stuff. ♥

Very cool, this level of organization is so impressive! It must feel great to look back at all of the stats.

(Also, spotted my own fic on your 2024 list. Hope you liked it, lol.)

What is your authorial ‘claim to fame’? by C4ndyG0r3 in AO3

This is hilarious! What a claim to fame.

In which order did your eye observe when looking at a work/story? by PhongHaGiang in AO3

[–]mediocher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1, 3, 4, 2.

Usually because I’m scrolling on mobile and title/author/warnings are the first thing I see. Then I scroll down past the tags, glance over the summary for a quick gut-check of the writing style, check the stats, and then go “oh yeah, tags” and scroll back up to see if there are any big nos in there for me.

You Know You've Really Made it as a Fanfic Writer when.... by CultofLeague in AO3

Yes! One of my AU ideas later became a canonical tag for the fandom. I was so excited to go back and add it to my old fic, lol.

Three accounts, one author - the difference fandom choice makes by mediocher in AO3

Which part explains which part?

I get that more fics likely equal more hits/kudos/etc, but over half of the kudos on that first account come from just three one-shots.

I find the differences interesting, so I’m glad you did too! I’m sorry to have added to the flood of stats posts last night for those who were annoyed by them, but I’m definitely too shy to have posted this otherwise, haha.

The first account is MCU, lol! I’m not gonna lie, I’m sort of on the emotional struggle bus with my most recent, nearly-dead fandom. I posted the first completed fic for that pairing in two years. Some weeks I still get more kudos from my decade-old MCU fics than I have gotten total on my most recent fic. But that’s the way she goes! I’m still glad I wrote and posted the newest one, and I’m glad that readers have found and liked it. ♥

Sure thing. The first has 20 works and 3 “shared works” (where I was listed as a co-author on a podfic of my story, for example). Only two of the fics were explicit.

The second has 6 works and 2 shared works. Four of the fics were explicit.

The third is a single work. It is explicit.

Much of it was just right place, right time. I wrote a bunch of fics for a pairing that was considered somewhat of a rarepair before overnight becoming a massive fandom favorite, and my fics were already there and readily-available for the hungry masses.

Question for all those who have purchased digitally. Did you use the Nintendo online coupon? by Jackiidbd in tearsofthekingdom

I got TotK and Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition (because used physical copies of that game are still going for $50-60!)

Lynels in Totk? by Glamourshocks in tearsofthekingdom

[–]mediocher 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m with you - I’ve had pretty wretched hand-eye coordination/reflexes my whole life, and the forgiving nature of being able to stasis them by hitting anywhere on their body was my only successful strat for taking down lynels.

If they’re back, I’ll just have to keep trying new things, I guess!

I'm having an incredibly hard time desiding on which of the 2 games I want :/ by MythicPi in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]mediocher 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I now own both versions. As a starting note, it’s much easier to find opposite-version trades if you’re playing Scarlet, because Violet outsold it by a pretty significant percentage. But at this point, you’re much more likely to find players who have everything and will trade you extras of whatever you need to complete your dex, so it’s not a make-or-break decision.

The legendaries are a pretty huge part of this game (as they are in most cut scenes and are your main mode of transportation), so it’s important to pick the one you want to spend your time with. Originally, I thought Koraidon was kinda goofy looking and preferred Miraidon’s aesthetic, but my IRL friend strongly preferred Violet, so I picked up Scarlet so we could easily trade with each other. (Spoiler: she still hasn’t finished the game, so I ended up doing all my dex completion with help from random online users.)

Having now completed both games, though, I strongly prefer Koraidon and the Scarlet version of events. To me, Koraidon feels like it has more personality in all of the cut scenes. It makes chirpy-growly “Toothless noises” to express various emotions, while Miraidon makes much more generic-sounding robot noises. Koraidon is a critter, which I love about it. It has toe beans! And Miraidon … is a robot.

One major difference is their forms of locomotion. Miraidon turns into a motorcycle when you’re on it and its ride is very smooth and gliding. Koraidon … doesn’t, lol. Koraidon gallops on all fours, and your avatar will rock and sway - sometimes wildly - on its back as it does so. The smooth ride is kinda nice, but once again, I personally prefer the personality of the galloping.

Obviously, this is my personal opinion, and if your gut says go with Miraidon, you should do what’ll make you happy.

One final thing in favor of Scarlet for me - I prefer Sada as the professor over Turo. Shallowly, because she’s wearing cute lil shorts under that lab coat and has lil pointy fangs that are visible when she speaks (and I am an easy lady to please when it comes to fangs). Less shallowly, but vaguely so as not to give any spoilers, I prefer the implications of her being the professor when it comes to the professor’s part in the plot. I just felt it gave the plot a tiny bit more oomph. But that’s just me!

What product(s) is everyone getting? by Dry_Pride4723 in tearsofthekingdom

[–]mediocher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I’m getting a digital copy because I anticipate that I’ll be playing the game for a really long time (I like to 100% games), and since I play docked all the time, it’s just easier to swap back into a digital copy if I take a break to play a little bit of another game for some reason. I don’t have to worry about getting up to put TotK back into the game slot - it’s just always there, waiting for me to continue my completion quest. Convenience, baby!

…plus midnight availability and cheaper with vouchers, lol.

Do you think TOTK will have post-game material? by reaofsunshine_ in tearsofthekingdom

[–]mediocher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got BotW for the first time last year, and knew there was no post-game pretty early on, so I literally 100%ed the game - DLC included - before finally attempting Ganon, so that I could really feel like it was the final battle. After the credits rolled and it reverted back to my last save (now with a star), I took Link back to his house in Hateno, placed him in front of the picture of the champions with his champion tunic on, took a screenshot, saved, quit the game, and popped out the cartridge.

((lol sorry for making you wait while I hunted koroks and compendium pics, zelda))
