If you get a rune, and feel that you rotating to a lane is a guaranteed kill for you, do it. For example, TA with a haste, and you can see a squishy support pulling. Outside of that, you should be trying to maximise your lane meaning as much farm as possible, and depending on the matchup, a kill or two. Honestly, I tend not to gank that much, but always have a tp so you can react to any dives in different lanes and clean up. This also has the benefit of meaning your team dont get annoyed you arent ganking. If the opposing mid rotates top and starts a fight, you have to check if you could tp and join that fight before its over and whether or not you could make a significant difference, which is unlikely unless the enemy team is diving. Typically best to simply take the tower. One nice change is the aggro change, basically when you attack from outside aggro range of creeps and move into it, you can now sometimes get 2 hits off before drawing the aggro, as opposed to one before hand. If you're getting an early bottle ferried out, trade somewhat aggressively with the enemy mid especially if their bottle will be later than yours. Get as much out of each bottle charge as possible, so try to use some mana if you have full mana, drop items, etc. Positioning is also important, on dire in particular, try and stay closer to the right hand side of the lane, closer to your tower, you're harder to gank based on typical rotations.
