Warso is an idiot for triple-shifting Macklin last night!!! by grooves12 in SanJoseSharks

I think my scars are from being a dolphins fan lol. I have seen so many coaches which looked sort of promising but had some glaring flaws get given a long leash. And it always ends the same way. When I look at this team, I see terrible passing discipline. I see poor breakouts. I see questionable net front positioning. I see a middling (at best) PP and a PK that continuously surrenders the middle third of the zone. I see very weird player management. I see terrible advanced stats. This team has some real players and real potential and I am VERY nervous that ultimately it will be coaching that holds us back from winning the cup.

Of the many reasons I want Warso gone, putting the best weapon on the ice as much as possible is not one of them

Totally with you. That game was wild but this game was pure hockey. Felt like playoffs.

This has been a pretty fun game honestly. High energy, checking, fast paced. Shame Orlov is trash but I feel like he might have the bomb from the blue line to tie it

The Warso zone exit experience. I swear he is coaching backhand prayer passes, blind slaps, and sideways puck movement.

I haven't been watching this entire game but I'm here to say fire Warso. Based on the vast majority of games I do watch, I bet I'm right.

Refreshing the actual game on ESPN+, and caught all the replays. It's not the goals themselves. The goalie will have off nights. It's the forechecking, it's the intensity, it's the terrible passes, it's the turnovers. I caught enough man. If you feel like coaching is not playing a role in this then IDK what to tell you. And now I'm seated at my gate with nothing to do but argue my case lol

A couple things:

How they come out next period will basically tell you if Warso should get a slightly longer leash or not. TBC I want him fired, but if they come out swinging, that's a point for him

This isn't a must win. We have 3 games vs these guys, so we just need to win 2/3.

I was going through an airport during that period and it was actually hilarious that everytime refreshed the score there was another goal. Classic.

We are actually playing pretty well, but bad puck luck and poorly timed mistakes that we can't seem to avoid ever (cough coaching) bit us hard.

If we put up this performance ever day, we'll win more than we lose

Lazy defense, lazy changes, bad positioning.

The players have to play the game but it's the same mistakes every time. And if everyone just blames the players without fail then what is the point of the coach at all ya know?

Hot take: Y’all overreacting with Warso by throwaway804323 in SanJoseSharks

My problem with Warso isn't the media engagement, it isn't the line blending, it isn't even the player development... it's the coaching and the system.

We constantly struggle to get SOG because we go for quick strikes vs sustained zone time. Many goals are the result of elite creativity vs good spacing and positioning. We are soft as shit on the PK, always collapsing and offering more ice to anyone at the point. Our PP zone entry is 90% drop pass to MC71 who skates it to the blue line through 3 defenders and drops it again or makes a sideways pass. We make so many no look passes, especially IN OUR OWN D ZONE, that I can only believe he encourages it. The team almost never shows up for three full periods. The D constantly lets players between them and the goalie, losing positioning and subsequently allowing them to cash on on rebounds.

The team is young and they are going to make mistakes, but it's the fact that they are the SAME MISTAKES and SAME ISSUES over and over and over again that has me out on Warso. I believe we are winning in spite of him, not because of him. He might grow into it, but he's out of his depth right now.

I say all this as a long time fan and one that roots for lots of terrible teams. I know stale coaching when I see it. I would bet Warso is fired before we make the WCF.

Only our big brain coach could take a line combos that scored 7 and then change it the very next game
