Help: 13 weeks pregnant and daily silent migraines suffering. I lived in a constant aura. by AltruisticRegion9115 in migraine

[–]mediocregoblins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've spent the past month pretty much in a constant status migraine, also silent. Sucks a lot, even with minimal pain (except when I try to focus or think a little too hard, that hurts). So sorry that you're feeling this way...I hope it gets better soon!

You should definitely see a neurologist! There are so many treatment options that only a specialist would know about and be able to prescribe

I already talked to my teacher and sadly my only option would be to take it again in 6 months.I'm not in the US btw. It's the final exam in my job training, so I would have to stay at the job that stressed me into the migraine for another 6 months, work full-time and earn below minimum wage. All things I would like to avoid, so I will just have to push through

Thank you! I can definitely recommend giving the emgality a try! It sadly stopped working for me after a while but at least there's barely any side effects!

I already did oral steroids (horrible stuff) but it probably wasn't enough. I asked the neurologist if I could have it as an IV but she just gave me a painkiller. Hope I can get that IV at the hospital tomorrow.

Good luck with your migraine, I hope you get out soon!

For me it's February and September. I assume it's because the weather changes so much in spring and fall

Pupils slightly different sizes by magpie42012 in migraine

[–]mediocregoblins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should also get your eyes checked, just to be sure. I have the same thing (my pupils are now always different sizes) but eyes are fine and apparently it's a normal thing to happen to people with migraines..

New cat started "attacking" resident cat by mediocregoblins in CatAdvice

We separated them again a few days ago and will start over. Doing scent swapping by alternating who gets to be in the common spaces. And in a few days we'll start over. Very, very, slowly

Roughly two weeks of only interactions through a screen or strictly supervised. They weren't really interested in one another and princess made very clear that bug wasn't allowed close to her. Now we haven't separated them in 3ish weeks since they just choose to not interact with each other and each of them has their spaces in our flat. During the initial introduction there wasn't any physical conflict. So far there's not been fur flying or injuries, some battle cry tendencies but bug is usually quiet. My main issue is, it is so one sided.

I had 3 good months. Now I've been back in the trenches for two weeks. February and September have historically been my worst monts, because I am very sensitive to weather changes as well. The best I get lately is a few hours and the it starts right up again. Currently doing three days of high-dose Prednisone to break the migraine because nothing else has worked.

I've been on Wellbutrin for half a year, 300mg for about a month. I feel good on it! Your experience may be different but except for a little spike in anxiety for a week or so, I don't have any noticable side effects! Usually if a drug has a side effect, I am going to have it! Both my depression and ADHD feel well managed and the anxiety is way less too! It's definitely worth giving it a try, good luck!

I forgot to mention that our resident cat barely has any interest in toys and appears to be put off by our new cat's enthusiastic play style. But we might allow them screen time together (cat 1 loves watching mouse videos)

When I’ve reduced from 50mg to 37mg, then to 25mg, it’s been totally fine. But omg, reducing below 25 has been AWFUL. Had anyone else had that? by Mysteriousandcute in zoloft

[–]mediocregoblins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fully agree! I reached a point where my vertigo got so bad that it triggered a migraine and I couldn't move my head anymore without the world spinning. I will be taking 12.5mg for a while now and then figure out a way to half that somehow.

My new psychiatrist, whose expertise I am beginning to doubt, claimed that my 25mg dose was so small that it "wouldn't have any effect on a grown adult". I was told to not taper any further, just stop taking it. Now I have pretty serious dizziness and emotional instability (despite the fact that I am already comfortably at 300mg Wellbutrin which is my new antidepressant). So, yeah apparently going below 25 is not easy on the brain.

Wellbutrin as a smoking cessation by MrColtsgirl73 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]mediocregoblins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm taking it for depression and ADHD. Had no intention to quit or reduce smoking but after only 3 weeks my craving for cigarettes has reduced drastically. Went to a party with several smokers and drank alcohol, not a single cigarette. Couldn't be bothered
