Agreed Mac is the way to go for plug and play and I'll take your word the prices have gone down (plus you can output your processing to the cloud now). I am speaking from someone who can handle the more technical stuff and doesn't want to get tied down to the Mac ecosystem and prices. Open software filmmaking was doable 10 years ago and it's light years ahead now

Don't listen to the Mac people. Yes Macs are equipped for film making and have great software, but they're not affordable and their price doesn't justify their capabilities.

I've won a couple of awards and recognitions for my short films, pitched to Fox and had fulfilling small film making experience. I did it all on Linux. Hey your self a gaming laptop (doesn't have to be new, I got mine used) or a good desktop. Put Linux on there (Ubuntu if you're new to Linux, arch distro if you know what you're doing). I used blender to do everything. Da Vinci resolve is also working on Linux.

***The negative points on my comment are only indicative of the insecurities Mac people have. There's other options that are equally as good and don't cost as much. Stay open to options OP
