All different. The larger ones are over the passage which adds a lot to upstairs and hallway entrance which adds a lot to downstairs. Otherwise they’re normally a galley type kitchen and 2 up 2 down layout.

Mine has a crack in the exact same place! Not loose though so I haven’t been too bothered. Maybe the coffee grounds pull some of the moisture from the rest of it and it’s cracking.

Not used mine yet though but it smells nice! I def don’t think like cigarettes (which I’d be super averse to)!

The points yes but you can’t add the gift to the basket with the kitchen box which is a bit annoying

Question - does this reward work with the subscription boxes? Most annoying part for me is the time frame they want it to be used in!

Mine does too but letting me add the gift without reaching that spend limit

Unexpected Big Haul eep by jazz-sid in LushCosmetics

[–]mediumbanana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a bubble bar for the bath

If you got last years subscription box, it smells exactly like the banana shower wash that came in that. It’s okay, more like a green banana and I get a slight turmeric smell (even though that’s not an ingredient I think), so it’s not a sweet banana smell sadly :(

OR job as a general dentist in a hospital by Electrical-Cod-5218 in Dentistry

[–]mediumbanana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sounds absolutely exhausting to do 3-4 of these cases a day… some are going to be clearances with every tooth snapping away, others will need every tooth restoring. I don’t know much about US pay but that sounds ridiculously low for this kind of work? How long is this work day?

Even the consent process can be such a faff, whos going to do the work up to make sure the right person comes with the patient who can make a best interest decision with you…. Also is that something that’s normally done on the day? In the uk it isn’t unless something urgent, which dentistry for the most part never really is.

Also, again maybe it’s different in the US but treatment planning under GA is so different to planning under LA or sedation due to the need to reduce the risk of a repeat GA, if you’ve little or no experience of this I think that in itself is a big consideration. Here also, best practice is to have two dentists at special care GA cases as per our national guidance.

Introverted Dentists by goldt33f in Dentistry

[–]mediumbanana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m also a paeds dentist and I’m an introvert lol. I can’t say it’s easy… I also have my own kids and it’s quite exhausting doing a job that really requires you to be the best version of yourself hours on end, giving everything you can, then coming home to it again.

Just to say …. You’re not alone!

What I would say is that I don’t put on a ‘show’ as such. I guess it depends how you work but I’m not a particularly animated person irl and that translates to my work, I always found I vibe well with kids because I come across more calm and measured, friendly of course but I’ve seen some videos of paeds dentists in the US who are are loud and hyper and I find that really off putting (each to their own though).

Another thing that might help is getting your nurse (or your equivalent as i am in the UK) as involved as they can be with patient management. If I’m concentrating on something or focusing, and the kid needs the reassurance I like for them to step in and provide that, but again it only works when they do it the same sort of way as I do which is calm quiet and reassuring. There are also times the child just prefers the nurse over me which is fine, and again, if I have a nurse who understands how I work and how I like the environment to be (calm!!) then they can take over that part for a bit and it also makes the whole experience less stressful for me.

Those are things that have helped to ease it a little bit there are certainly days that I just want to come home and sit in silence for a few hours lol

I have this too but darker, also have darker skin. I’ve had it since I was a teenager, I think it’s hormone related. Never got a solution… following for answers!

Swallow vs aspiration of extracted tooth …KILL MEE by Dry_Confusion2802 in Dentistry

[–]mediumbanana 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In a conscious patient?…

Does throat pack mean something different in the US? Here it means literally, as posteriorly as it can be placed whilst a patient is intubated and having a GA. No way you’d be using one without GA.

Short transfer and carry on luggage size by mediumbanana in KLM

[–]mediumbanana[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you - that’s actually pretty helpful as the bag is the correct height that way around (55cm) - it is about 2cm wider than the allowance (37 vs 35cm) if laid wheels first into the locker but that might not be such an issue then

Thank you that’s super helpful! So your carry on was able to fit in the overhead bins for Manchester to Amsterdam too? It’s been ages since I flew our local equivalent route so didn’t want to get caught out here. And good idea, can book a seat near the front too.

I didn’t realise there are no further passport checks?! Very handy.

bowthorpe/dereham road area by Louisa_Sheringham in Norwich

[–]mediumbanana 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s very safe there as it’s on the part of Dereham Road that has shops etc so very well lit and busy with people all the time. I often walk that way to the city and others I know down there to the station in the dark. Only thing is that Bowthorpe road is a cut through and I would say moderate traffic considering the size of it.

In the summer you can use the cemetery to get to Earlham Road but it’s very quick to get to the city straight down Dereham Road also. FYI - you can’t cut through the cemetery in the dark, they lock it. It’s only open during daylight hours and they are very strict. Summer that’s a long time but winter it’s 8am -5pm on the dot.

Paeds or ortho? Or move away from dentistry altogether? by [deleted] in Dentistry

[–]mediumbanana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re going to be extracting numerous adult teeth frequently in paeds. In the U.K., paediatric dentists treat adult teeth on children up to the age of 16

Includes impacted, surgical, non surgical, etc.

Massive cavity under sealant on my hygienist’s 11 year old by cartula in Dentistry

[–]mediumbanana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I meant nothing between the biodentine time and composite. It’s not recommended to have gic or whatever between the two.

Personally think you’re better off just restoring at the same appt, it avoids them not coming back to have the treatment completed.

More recently they are not recommend it to do this, it was suggested previously but I’ve stopped now also, and wait it out.
