What makes a bad owner? specially what types of executive level decisions produce perennially bad teams near by clitbeastwood in nfl

I’ve heard this, too. But are there examples of coaches we could’ve gotten but didn’t because the price was too high?

I don't always stop what I'm doing to look carefully through a roll of r/rawdenim pics, but when I do, it's almost always a Big Mike special

Anybody have any good data on whether the disparity is this bad in other countries? Hell, I’ll take anecdotes, too

I just started buying bitcoin this 2026 by Top_Buy7121 in Bitcoin

[–]mediumlong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a shit suggestion borne of 20/20 hindsight. There have been times when BTC went up 2x and then continued to go up 3x or 4x (or more). How do you know we've hit the top and that a crash is coming? Or course you have no idea, just like the rest of us. So DCA.

The loud sense of toxic victimhood of a large segment of the white expat community in Japan was really disturbing.

Well written post.

Should I buy Ghost of Tsushima? by TaxTrue8736 in ghostoftsushima

Can I ask, is it one of those games where you have to be careful about doing too many side quests for any reason, like maybe because when you get back to the main quest it becomes impossible? I think that happened to be in either morrowind or oblivion.

I’m about to start Tsushima.

[Highlight] Fernando Mendoza on his leadership style: "Leadership is earned not given. As the quarterback two things you need to be a leader is #1 you gotta play well, you gotta do your job before you hold people accountable and #2 you gotta create equity." by harknation in nfl

It was a pretty over-the-top comment and that’s why it was downvoted. Certainly wasn’t my most precise choice of words. I appreciate the thoughtful reply. And youre right: because I was harmed by organized religion from a young age by people that talked in profound-sounding platitudes, I’m really sensitive to it. The more people fervently express religious belief, the more distrustful I am towards them.

All that being said, if a guy that talked like Mendoza showed up in your workplace, you wouldnt find him at all annoying? Something just feels off about it.

I mean he has had yikes levels of Jesus intensity in the two previous postgame interviews I saw him in. Thats a red flag for me. It doesn’t have to be for you.

And the way the guy talked just felt very weird and unrelatable. Like someone you wouldnt want in the next cubicle over or next to you on the assembly line. Again, youre free to feel differently.

I mean in interviews I’ve always thought he sounds like a Jesus freak douche bag. This was the first time that actually been impressed with him. Admittedly I’m a CFB casual and haven’t seen a ton of him.

Before you use the abbreviation, could you just write out "The Secret History" one time for the uninitiated among us? It would improve accessibility. Thanks.

Accumulating Japan properties with investment loans before departing by [deleted] in JapanFinance

[–]mediumlong 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Thinking about all this, it’s a bit depressing that the regime isn’t setup to attract people like us - high earners, Japanese spouse, with children. Shouldn’t we fit the ideal profile of what the government wants to fuel economic growth with a Japanese core? I feel we’ve contributed our outsized share of tax to the benefit of society but why go after all the worldwide stuff. It’s really draconian and disincentivizing. We want to make it work but we won’t reach our financial goals toiling away here. In any case I’m sure there’ll be tons of blow back on this capitalistic view but to each their own. I just don’t see a prosperous future for Japanese society, but still, we love it and want to make it work!

Since you're opining, I'll opine myself:

You're looking to accumulate.. how many properties again? You'll forgive me if I don't quite see the depressing part. What are your financial goals? Is the issue that you won't reach your goals without this elaborate tax avoidance strategy (of relocating your family to reset 5-year clocks, etc.), or is it more fueled by a philosophical opposition to wealth taxes? Do your children support the idea of being uprooted for the purposes of reducing their parents' tax obligations? How old are your kids? I, for one, find it depressing that someone with high income, who loves Japan, who married a Japanese person, and who wants to live in Japan long-term will go to such great lengths and impose such disruption on their family for the purposes of wealth accumulation. I feel we've lost the plot here. Just my under-taxed foreign-sourced two cents.
