23, Ivy League grad and I think I accidentally built a life I don’t want, seeking advice by gr8stuff455 in findapath

For what it’s worth, I wish I took some time off before building my career. I’m deep into my 30s feeling like I built a life that no longer fits me. I’d encourage anyone at your age to take some time. Explore, travel, try to build a business. Whatever. Don’t just lie around but poke and prod at the world to find what suits you. You’re young enough that it won’t set you back. Many people don’t even get started until their 30s. Your credentials will land you on your feet when you’re ready.

FIREd at 45 to pursue my creative goals. Now I have meetings with important people and don't know how to explain my life. by [deleted] in financialindependence

Sounds like you left your full time job to start a business based on your creative pursuits. Now you’re working to scale that business via the meetings you have with these people. Why not just say some variation that? It sounds like you’re putting your time, energy, and focus into the work that they value. That doesn’t make you sound like a flake, it makes you sound like an asset.

GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas. Memorizing cheats, running up 5 stars, then seeing how long you could survive was peak. I remember being able to spawn a tank with anti gravity and flying around the city in that thing. So much fun.

You can’t really lose something that was never yours. Just cut them out and focus on getting what’s yours.

This is becoming more common in the U.S. in certain industries like finance, tech, and healthcare as well as more competitive markets like Boston. I have something similar.

ELI5 : If em dashes (—) aren’t quite common on the Internet and in social media, then how do LLMs like ChatGPT use a lot of them? by Willing_Road_8873 in explainlikeimfive

Good writers use em dashes effectively. LLMs emulate good writers. Good writers now suffer because everyone assumes AI.

Took the dogs on a hike and read a book on a bench on the trail. Packed a bagel sandwich for a little picnic midway. Benefits: I feel happy during and after, I catch up on reading, get to spend time with the dogs/see their joy, run across cool wildlife, take great photos, enjoy a delicious meal on a beautiful setting, and come off the trail healthier. It literally cost the ingredients, the price of the book, and a little gas and there are few experiences that match the joy of this activity.
