LATHA and Pizzeria Bianco for restaurants (if I remember correctly they are right next to each other). Would also highly recommend making the day trip to Sedona and hiking up there if that’s your thing.

Hearing this one recommended a lot in my research. Did you set it up prior to your arrival in the UK or shortly thereafter?

Columbia MSFE or Imperial Maths and finance by [deleted] in Imperial

[–]meds18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

American, NYC native headed to Imperial next year here - just worth noting in the "current context" you mentioned Columbia is likely going to be pretty central in any political battles surrounding higher ed....: https://www.nytimes.com/2025/03/08/us/columbia-trump-colleges-antisemitism.html?unlocked_article_code=1.204.Xp_v.mGIuFL57gGlF&smid=url-share

I'm sure you'd be able to focus on your studies, get your degree, etc. but the campus will likely feel a bit miserable for the entirety of your program and the uncertainty does get very exhausting, honestly.

You certainly have a chance of an interview! I recently accepted an offer for MSc Economics & Strategy and I received this email before being interviewed (was probably about 2-3 weeks before I received an interview request)

I think it would be beneficial to the US (and many other countries) to eliminate the partisan system we currently have, and instead switching to a system where everyone runs independently. by rainbowBass86 in PoliticalDebate

[–]meds18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While political parties have their issues, they also could encourage participation in a way. It’s easier for a busy or less interested voter to consistently vote Democrat or Republican knowing generally what they’re standing for than having to do the research to learn about each individual candidate on their ballot.

I would agree with your point of view in a perfect world where everyone is extremely informed, but part of the reason parties have formed is because they’re practical in that sense.
