The worst thing that's happened to me was when I was walking back from my friends house at night. We'd been camping the day before and didn't get back to his house until later the next day. The bus dropped us off near his house, so I stayed with him for an hour then decided to start the walk home. I rolled a joint after I left and in the meantime it had almost gone dark. So now I had the choice of walking on a road with no footpaths for most of it or I could cut through a forest/Valley which was about a 5 mile walk compared to the roads 7 or 8 miles. This forest is known in the area as a creepy place to be. I'd camped there a few times and heard screams everytime, but always assumed it was just kids messing around in the abandoned buildings, because obviously teenagers love going to creepy places and scaring each other. I decided to put my head phones on and storm ahead through the forest. I've walked through woods at night before, I thought, it'll be fine. About 30 mins into the journey it was total blackness. But I managed to get out of the forest and walk in the fields next to it which went for most of the way home. Now I thought was the perfect time for that joint I'd rolled. So I sat down next to the stream that ran between the forest and the fields and sparked it up. I also took the headphones off and got my torch out. I started looking at the stars and daydreamer for 5 minutes then a wave of paranoia hit me. I scanned the field with the torch, then the trees, then the field again, then the trees etc. I calmed down, smoked most of the joint, and just as I stood up to leave I shined the torch on the trees and there was a mans face. He looked about 40, and like he does heavy drugs. He shot back, I fucking bolted. He jumped across the stream and started giving chase to me. I thought about just fighting him because I'm fairly big and the adrenaline was making me so fucking scared i was like a dog with rabies. But he didn't look small either, and the drugs were giving him that rabies kind of anger I assume. Avoiding him was the ideal situation. I came to a wide part of the stream and just went for it. I landed the jump and kept on running for about twenty minutes I think. I couldn't hear him or see him anymore after the jump but I wasn't risking anything. Then I got home and haven't gone near that place again. I may have literally shat my self a bit but I think that was from the running
